I was restoring an old subwoofer and didn't want to spend much on repairs. Perfect fit and easy installation. Problem solved and little expense.

I like the material these are made of: it is like a vinyl. Not the foam stuff they had originally. When I got these I almost sent them back because they had a deformation like they had been sitting on something for a long time. I tried a few times to get them to go back to the right shape with a hair dryer, but no luck so I went ahead and used them. The one that was deformed the least went on with only a small challenge. The one that was more out of shape was much more of a challenge. Attempting to add more glue at the trouble spot just caused it to curl and look worse. It is firmly glued all the way around so I think it is fine, just cosmetic. They are behind a cloth grill so no biggy for me. The speakers sound as good as my 40-years-older ears remember them sounding.

I was able to re-foam my speakers with these. Be sure to remove them from the packaging and place them on a flat surface a few days before actually using them. You'll want them to recover from the packaging.

I used the 8-inch pair of these to repair a couple of 20+ y/o subwoofer speakers. They lined up perfectly and I simply glued them with standard wood glue. I first placed the surround behind the cone where it naturally centered and I glued the outside edge. After that glue dries you can either glue the inside edge behind the cone as mine were originally, or gently pull the surround to the outside of the cone and glue it there. The result is great. Cleaning off the old surround is probably the hardest part of the job.

I had two full range speaker cabinets in which the 8" speakers had torn surrounds. These installed easily and the speakers are now as good as new.

Put these into my 40+ year old Bose 301s. The speakers are like new. The special glue works fine, but I used 3M black weather strip cement (p/n 08008) on one set and it worked fine as well.
