Old Dutch 13" Embossed Victoria, Set of 6 Stainless Steel Charger Plates, Antique Pewter

Love these Pewter Salt N Pepper shakers! I had purchased the Old Dutch Pewter Canister set a few years back and have enjoyed them so much I wanted to get the matching salt and pepper shakers, but at that time they were priced very high so I had to pass. So, I was very happy when I found them again priced under 20.00 bucks, and grabbed them! I couldn't be happier! They are well constructed , easy to clean with some warm soap and water or just a damp cloth and don't show near the fingerprints my old thin stainless steel ones did. They're a nice large size measuring 4 in. tall and 8 1/2 inches around, making them a good size for fitting in the small space I have between my oven and microwave. I also like the Nice durable handles, they're easy to grip, opening is not to big or small, and I can fit my two fingers through the handle and rest my thumb on top with a good comfortable grip. Someone mentioned they were disappointed in the weight of these shakers? I can assure you they are durable and not easily dented, they have a nice thickness to them. I also read where someone was disappointed that they were not labeled with an S and P ? No they don't have the S and P for identification but if you look on the top, you will see one has 5 holes which is for Salt and the other has 8 holes which is for the Pepper and that is how you tell the difference. On the bottom of the shakers they have clear rubber stoppers, which I found a bit cumbersome to remove, so I had to grab a pair of small pliers to get a good grip on them, problem solved! That just means the stoppers fit good and snug. I couldn't be happier with this set, they're beautiful and functional.......what more could you ask for?!

I had to replace all my "plastic" chargers because after a few years, they just crumbled. I am looking forward to many years using these metal ones. They are just as stunning in person.

I really don't understand all the complaints. Maybe I just got lucky but these canisters were absolutely perfect. A beautiful stainless look to go with my stainless appliances and cabinet handles but some design on them to keep them from being boring. Lid knobs were just fine and one lid was a little tight but I'd rather have a good seal than none at all. I have green granite counter tops and stainless appliances and these really stand out. I kind of like the light weight as they are easy to move around and won't break. I hope, however, that if they get wet they won't rust. But then I just got them for a change of pace and don't expect I'll keep them forever. I got the matching tool caddy for my large cooking tools and it is a nice tie in. Hope the rest of you have as good of an experience and I did.

Pros: Looks great on the counter and seals the Florida humidity from the sugar inside. Cons: There are little things that could have been done better. As someone else noted, our knob is also off-center 1/4"-3/8". The seal on our lid was applied very crooked, but it seals very well. Unless the knob is more off-centered than ours, neither of these flaws are noticable unless you have the lid in hand and are critiquing it. However, it has an unpleasent odor in it even after washing that has mostly gone away in the four months that we've used it. I'm surprised that no one else has said anything about that. Overall, it was a good purchase that would have been 5 stars without these issues.

I was a little hesitant to order this canister set because of a couple of negative reviews, but glad I did. I love them. They look great and seal very nicely.

I only wish the set had a couple of other pieces because they are so large and beautiful.

The detail

I got these for their beauty. They match my kitchen perfectly. I thought if they didn't seal well, I'd leave my flour, etc in a ziplock bag inside them. I don't need to, though. :) The seal is VERY tight! Not only are they beautiful, but functional as well. I HIGHLY recommend this canister set and the matching salt and pepper shakers, as well.

Have been looking for new canisters for some time. Did not want a set of four. The quality of the product is great. They are well worth the money.
