Thoughtfully designed and solidly built. Lab tests suggest that it works as well as any of the competing clips, and I really like that you can mount these after the furring channel is already clipped in; it takes away one small headache. If you're looking for an isolation system, you really can't go wrong with these. As always, attack soundproofing from a holistic standpoint; read up, understand how sound gets around and plan a total solution. No one product, in of itself, is likely to give completely satisfactory results.

I'm am happy with the clips. They were just the right addition to the basement bedroom I'm building. They are well constructed and were easy to install. The room isn't completed yet at the time of this review so I can't attest to their effectiveness. Mechanically, using these clips with the specified hat channel made for a very easily and quickly installed ceiling. My only problem with the transaction was the time it took to get my order fulfilled. I have ordered many things over the years through Amazon and have always been pleased by the timeliness and service. This time was an exception. Amazon always informs you of the status of your order. I ordered the clips and accepted standard shipping expecting that they would be at my doorstep within a few days. What actually happened is that my order sat in "awaiting fulfillment" limbo for nearly a week. I ended up changing my shipping to next day so that my construction schedule wouldn't slip even more. The moral of the story: buy your clips in advance so that you have them on hand when needed for construction (Yeah, I know that is advisable for any circumstance, but Amazon's usual quick turnaround lulled me into a false sense of security.) In this case, Amazon was only the storefront not the fulfilment house so I cant fault them.

Works best when used with other soundproofing measures. I used much more than just these, but I am very happy with my results

They do not work. Don't waste your money. Followed instructions to a T used the glue, decoupled the wall etc. Cheaper and better to use studio foam and double up the drywall.

These are the best product out there. There are others with a lower profile if you want to mount inside the joist bays, that way you only lose 1/2" rather than almost 2". If space is not an issue these work the best. Super easy to lay out. Too bad they are almost $2 more per clip on Amazon than other sources. In other words I use other sources.

I did the system described at soundproofing.com (roxul + whisper clips + double layer 5/8 sheetrock) on the ceiling; unfortunately my installer did not use the green glue I purchased as instructed. I can't say for certain what worked best of all those steps (I guess that's the problem...was it the roxul, or the clips, or the double layer of sheetrock that was most effective, or a combination of everything) but I am reasonably happy with the results. I used to be able to hear every word of conversations at normal volume, now I cannot hear conversations coming from downstairs at all. I still have some flanking noise which is another problem that has nothing to do with these clips but the noise coming from the ceiling is definitely reduced. You definitely have to have someone who knows what they are doing set these up since they bear such a heavy load, and it takes a while to make sure everything is straight. The reason for the three stars is I think these are overpriced.

Got someone else’s half used return. Only came with 6 clips when I paid for 10 clips and product information/install card was damaged and torn.
