Neil Gaiman’s complete original scripts for the highly anticipated six-episode original series, adapted from the classic novel he wrote with Terry Pratchett. First published nearly thirty years ago, the novel Good Omens has sold more than five million copies worldwide and is beloved by Gaiman and Pratchett fans alike. Collected here are Neil Gaiman’s original scripts for the Good Omens television series, offering readers deeper insight into Gaiman’s brilliant new adaptation of a masterwork. A tale of good and evil and the end of the world, Good Omens stars Michael Sheen as the angel Aziraphale; David Tennant as the demon Crowley; and Jon Hamm as the archangel Gabriel, as well as Anna Maxwell Martin, Josie Lawrence, Adria Arjona, Michael McKean, Jack Whitehall, Miranda Richardson, and Nick Offerman. Review: Loved reading this book after watching the miniseries - I'm embarrassed to say I never read "Good Omens". But I saw the trailer for it and wow, it looked so interesting. The fact that Queen's music was also part of it made it a no brainer. After watching the series and loving it, I bought this book and it was so much fun to read. Reading scenes that were ultimately deleted, scenes word for word from the series, the notations about what Queen song was playing in the Bentley... If you're a fan of the miniseries, this book is a must read. Review: A great reading of a script! - I genuinely love behind the scenes material. So I was so excited to get my hands on this book to see what was added/taken away/changed. Neil Gaiman's little director notes are truly the best part of this.

Fairly accurate and quite a bit of fun!
I was sad to find that the amazing journey I just watched through was done and wanted more content and context into this wonderful world that was tweaked for the screen and had never been so excited to find out there was a script book for the miniseries. It's quite wonderful to read and well written. It's a pretty pure script and includes a lot of scenes that never made it into the show. Worth the read.

Really fun read for lovers of the wonderful series 4.5 overall
Highly recommended if you love the series, only took off a star 'coz I think they could've stuff some production sketches or photos in there (got the soft cover version). Or some more of the wonderful title artwork. But that's just me, and I did get the companion guide as well. Worth it just to read the included comments from Neil Gaiman - laughed out loud a few times. For sure Amazon should've thrown more cash at the series, which in no way was long enough - but not to sound churlish. (If you read the production background interviews, the BBC went to Amazon and they formed up this partnership which paid for this fantastic series. E.g. no Amazon no Good Omens!) So the script book, as others have said, is sort of an intermediate between the original book, and the final production. So it's not an exact match to the final series, but IMO a fascinating insight into part of the process. And for sure, reading a script really brought home to me how much Michael Sheen and David Tennant were responsible for the incandescent characters we see on screen. 'Coz the script doesn't detail how to ACT, past brief strokes. After reading this just think it would be nice if the to-be-released BR came with any extra footage, even if it's unfinished - want more!

I can't get enough!
Good Omens is my all-time favorite show, so I loved seeing the script as a book like this in addition to having read the novel it was based on. I wish they would make a script book like this for season 2 and Season 3/finale (once that is released).

Missing link
Fun to see part of the evolution from the awesome book to absolutely delightful TV series. Would be fun to have an audio version but doesn't really need it. I can practically hear the actors' voices, with NG doing his comments.

Crowley would give this a wahoo
Bit of a baffled review - I’ve had my eye on this since it was reprinted in 2020, and it has always been *expensive*. One fine day the price drops to 470 and I nab it, fully expecting to get the wrong item (either the first print, one of those knockoff home printed copies, or a different book altogether) and having to return it, but I guess not???? The book is in pristine condition - I’ve bought books online before and there’s always a couple of minor dings and dents at the very least. Bit of cover fraying, as is expected with transport. This had nothing. Not a scratch, AND it’s the correct edition! To clarify - this cover is the one with *all* the deleted scenes, the other green-blue cover taken from the intro of the show doesn’t have them all. Worth the price? To be fair, anyone on this page probably knows why they’re here, so that’s on you. The stage directions + deleted scenes were the whole reason I wanted it, and now I have it!! Exceedingly delighted about it. If you want Canon Plus, this one’s for you. I feel it does give a lot of new material + context for what’s in the show, and a lot of the commentary is just plain funny. Hoping they release one for s2 too. The white/black/gold colour scheme (and no, the gold isn’t foil, alas) matches my copy of the novel, and it’s a bit thicker!!! Added a picture for comparison, alongside front cover + back cover + font size/print quality
