An excellent choice
My experience starts with their small travel scope that I've used quite often and did okay for its price. This scope is a huge upgrade in terms of quality. The tripod is excellent and can be fine tuned to center your target and the scope is a big upgrade compared to the travel scope I use. Combining this with celestrons 3x Barlow scope and their zoom lense that I originally used on the travel scope. Look forward to trying it out later tonight. It was easy to set up read the directions if needed they are pretty simple, but your just putting a couple pieces together. *A warning though it is pretty hefty so be careful carrying it* I also didn't have any issues regarding quality or damage to the item that others have experienced

A perfect first telescope!
A perfect first telescope! Especially suited for lunar and planetary viewing. The views of the moon through this telescope are breath-taking! The EQ mount makes tracking objects so much easier once you get used to it; you will spend more time enjoying actually viewing, instead of fighting adjustments as with an AZ mount. Overall this is an outstanding scope! Well worth the jump up from the 70mm. For the highest contrast, sharpest views of the planets a refractor is definitely the way to go! Also, practically zero maintenance and no time spent collimating. Just put it on the mount and get right to viewing! Purchased Astromaster Accessory Kit: it's a decent upgrade for this telescope if you're on a budget, but I can't recommend it. The 15mm Kellner actually performs well for a cheap eyepiece. However, the filters in this kit are too dark for a refractor of this size, and you really won't get any benefit from them on the planets. You really don't need a barlow lens for this scope, because the magnification range is fairly narrow; you just need the right size eyepieces. Skip the kit and purchase the Agena AstroProducts EWA 9mm eyepiece instead; for $45 I challenge you to find a better performing eyepiece! It really takes views through this instrument to a whole new level! Very comfortable for extended viewing, with great eye-relief, a wide field of view, and excellent contrast! This single eyepiece makes every starter eyepiece in your collection obsolete! This entire line of eyepieces are incredible for the price! This scope really shines in the x111 to x166 magnification range. Sometimes it takes a little patience to really nail the focus, as the focuser adjustment is a bit coarse. If it's within your budget I recommend the prism diagonal 90 by William Optics which has a 15mm fine helical focuser adjustment (Agena AstroProducts carries it). It's worth every penny, and is an incredible upgrade. Looking through the Agena EWA 9mm on this diagonal is like having a new telescope, and everything I viewed was like looking at it again for the first time! The moon through these optics will simply blow you away! To get the most out of this instrument, upgrade the cheap, plastic diagonal, and don't buy the cheap "kit" lenses. Clear Skies! :)

Perfect starter telescope.
My wife has been looking at telescopes for a while, but she didn't know how much they cost, so she never asked for one. I did a little bit of research and found that I could afford this one. The reviews were pretty good and it looked very neat. I didn't expect much for the price, but I figured it'd be a good starter telescope. Needless to say, we're beyond happy. It's very easy to assemble (I didn't even use instructions) and works flawlessly. We were so happy to be able to view the moon and all the details on it. I just bought a T-adapter and a T-ring for her D7000 camera so that she can do photography, but I'm also planning on buying more lenses later on. It's a great product. I highly recommend it.

This Telescope is Great!
Easy to assemble, well packaged when delivered. Now the fun part. The basic lens that comes with it is good enough that you have to get more! You just have to. We've had a lot of fun watching the moon, several planets, including Jupiter and checking out the constellations with this unit. We have added a couple more lenses to our new hobby, and we need to buy stock in mosquito repellant because we live in Michigan, but we are really enjoying this!

Good Telescope
I am a beginner when it comes to telescopes and I bought one mainly to look at the moon. I've had this for about a week and it's been working great! There was a new moon so I haven't been able to view much, but the image is crisp and clear. Would recommend. My model is the Astromaster 90EQ.

I own 2 of these but, th done I got from here on Amazon?
Ok, so back in 2017, I purchased this exact same telescope but I purchased it at a local store that also sold Cameras & lenses etc. And I bought if for my grand daughter & I to look around at stuff in the sky at night and over things. When she was older, I let her take the telescope home so she could have fun with her new fun hobby by herself & she has become quite an Astro Photographer in the last 2 or 3 seasons. Now in 2020 I decided I would by my other sons son, My Grandson one as well & have him start the same way I taught my grand daughter. And since no one locally sold them anymore I had no choice to order one from Amazon. The only difference between the 2 is the first one I bought had host the simple adjuster, this second one had the German equilateral setup. When it arrived at first I didn’t think about it when I unpacked it. But a few weeks later at my granddaughters 90mm the build quality was 10 times better than the nes one. So I asked he to bring it over the next time she came over.Which she’s did. And as soon as I put these side by side, even they said the same model. Looking closer they might has well been made by 2 different makers as they weren’t even close. I pulled bothe of them off their tripods & weighed them, the old one was 6 pounds heavier than the new one! And then with a little other looking around at it, the focus teeth were finer, the eyepieces were better quality, and the new one had dust & dirts iside the ube. I would have returned it but amazon said I was 2 days over the returning date. So, none the less, I’m stuck with this un-focusable POS from either Amazon or Celestron (called them too) So I guess I get to eat the cost of the newer & cheaper made current version… You’d be better off finding some one selling an older one off MArketplace & cleaning it up if you want one with more quality.

A Tip on Balancing the EQ Mount...
It took me a while to figure out how to properly balance the telescope on the EQ mount. The R.A. balancing was particularly troublesome... the counterweights always won. Then I realized the trick -- only install ONE of the counterweights. The mount comes with two, but you only need one for a telescope of this weight. After getting the balance right, it works like a dream. The slow-motion controls allow me to easily hone in on and track objects, and the optics of the telescope give a clear, vibrant view of the night sky.

Dont expect any support what so ever.
The red scope passed Celesteron QA without working, I was redirected to doa the product with Celesteron UK by Amazon, not a word from Celestron after two emails, excrpt one return email asking to add basic data I stated in their webform allready. Last time I bought a Celesteron product I could handle it via Amazon wo problems, then it was binoculars arrivinig with the lenses out of calibration giving a dual image.

Buen telescopio!
Buen telescopio! He podido ver Jupiter con sus lunas muy claro y los anillos de Saturno… para observación en tierra es bueno pero depende mucho del clima y visibilidad, se siente de buena calidad y el trípode le da muy buena estabilidad.

Priceless
CELESTEON 90EQ: £159.00. The wonder on my little boys face when he saw the moons carters earlier tonight: Priceless. A wonderful piece of kit, looking forward to spending many star filled night skys with my family.
