Galt Toys Sensational Sequins Kittens

Perfect birthday gift for six year old girl. I notice that Galt are now using flat sequins, so even easier to enjoy crafting independently.

My 5 year old daughter absolutely loved this / kept her busy - 6 year old daughter enjoyed this too so had to buy another pack.

Sequins dont stick on, stick came broken

Both my daughter, and niece, love arts and crafts; so this was certainly full of appeal for them. You get two different kitten boards to decorate, with lots of sequins, gems and a special pen to pick up the sequins.The idea is simple, but works well. You remove the backing sheet (it is best to do this in parts, rather than all at once) and then use the pen to pick up the sequins and attach them to the sticky parts of the picture. It is easy to use and, as long as you keep the sequins somewhere they won't spill all over the floor, then fairly mess free.My only criticism is that, sometimes, the sequins did become unattached. In that case, it is necessary to glue them in place. However, a glue stick is fairly cheap and easy for children to use and didn't spoil the fun. The results are nice and children can use them to decorate their room. This would be a nice activity for a play date or rainy afternoon. They have requested the Fairies and Unicorns set, so they obviously enjoyed making this, which was good to see. Just a note to say this is aimed at children aged 6+ which is about right. Younger children might find it too fiddly and too long to make, but it has a lot of appeal and, as I suggested, you can remove the backing sheet gradually, so children do not have to complete the whole picture at once.

My Daughter has really enjoyed this sequin Kittens craft set and has spent a good hour on each picture sat there applying the sequins bit by bit to the pre-marked out and sticky areas on the pictures.There is absolutely no glue required at all and the set does not come with a glue pen as mentioned in another review.The set comes with2 x Self-adhesive picture boards1 x Clear Wax Crayon1 x Sheet of Gem Stickers5 x Packs of Different Colour SequinsThe two pictures have circular pre-marked out sticky areas which are covered in a white thin wax paper which your child can peel off in sections to stick the coloured sequins on a few at a time. The sequins match the colours on the marked out areas or your child can of course create their own colour combinations but the idea is to stick the orange sequins on the orange areas and so on. The wax crayon is purely there to help your child pick up the sequins one by one and my Daughter was amazed that a wax crayon could do that and also then experimented with some of her own wax crayons to see if it was just a special wax crayon or not.I would say to make sure after each section is completed to press firmly down on each sequin to make sure it sticks as the sticky areas are not overly sticky. We have had a few sequins come off and have had to stick them back on and press firmly again but they do eventually all stick and the finished picture looks really good. I have deducted one star purely for the need to re-attach some sequins as if the sticky bits were slightly more sticky it would be a little easier.My Daughter has asked for another and I'm looking to buy another to put away for a rainy day activity for her. A good idea and a nice creative set that kept my Daughter amused for a couple of hours.
