Worst item ever received! Rotting and sticky! Hazardous material??
Worst item I have ever received from Amazon…rating should be a “-0”! The manufacturer’s box & sku label looked like some sort of oily substance had soaked through. This Nars compact should not even be handled as I believe it could be hazardous‽ The black material feels extremely sticky, like rubbery plastic when it gets old and is deteriorating! My fingers were sticking to the piece and I had to use alcohol to remove the substance from my hands! I sent Amazon the photos (attached here). They agreed and immediately refunded with no need to return. I will see if I can contact the seller/supplier directly…they should dump the rest of these where no one will have to touch them! Trust me…DO NOT ORDER THIS!

Just the case.
This is the case for the foundation, which you buy separately and snap into the case. I love the foundation that goes in it (my shade is Deauville), and you really don't have to have the case for it, especially if you're applying it with a brush instead of a sponge, but the case looks nice and makes it easier to handle, so I like to have it. I like to use Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply the foundation, rather than the sponge that comes with the foundation.

THis compact has to be replaced periodically, I buy the refill on Amazon as well. Thank you for the excellent service and the compact was brand new.
