cheap collapsible swords at a low price!
These are your basic junker collapsible "tai chi" swords. And the price of under $10 is just right. The swords themselves are decently balanced and are actually fine for practice Tai Chi sword forms. We sometimes run workshops where most or all of the people will have traveled. And these swords are great to bring for participants to use for a week. At the end of the week, they can keep them as a souvenir or toss them guilt-free. They've even held up through a few fencing drills, although I wouldn't try to practice much more than a few drills with the sword in contact with another sword. If you want an actual nice sword, buy a nice sword. You won't find any of those on Amazon. But, these are great for a reasonably priced sword that's decent to practice with.

looked nice at first but broken
It looked nice although it is cheaply made, the blades are stuck together and wouldn’t retract. The handle is broken. Was going to use this for Oct 7 but now can’t. Edit: Added 3 more stars since customer service and seller sent me a replacement that worked, it is just very fragile. We still didn’t get to use it on Oct 7 but worked for Halloween.

Cute sword toy, but there are flaws...
For the price, it is a decent product for its use. The weight distribution is not realistic, so if you were to use this as an actual practice sword, think twice. As for functionality, the sliding mechanism is flawed, as the parts get stuck so much that you need to use force to get them back into the hilt. I cut myself pushing the blades back into themselves, but that's my own stupid fault. It did not come with its nifty black pouch, which saddens me. Overall, it's fun for Chinese sword enthusiasts, even if it's a toy. Just be careful. That's all.

Fun toy for older children or adults
Not great for sword fighting but fantastic for stuntwork. I wanted something that is small and compact but looks real for a performance. Shines like a real sword being made from metal but with no edges or point you can stab people with it and it simply collapses into itself. Not high quality plastic on the handle but I wanted something lightweight so it works fine and is easily transportable.

Blade split. Very sharp. Not safe.
Update. It's been a couple more days since purchase. Less that a week owned. Now the blade has split leaving sharp edges that are very dangerous. It works ok but the blade doesn't slide in and out well. It tends to stick. My son wanted it and he is bummed out because it doesn't extend or close smoothly.

Son loves it!
Durable yet inexpensive, this sword is exactly what my young son wanted to add to his collection. The sword extends easily with a flick of the wrist, and the metal gives it the look of a real sword without the potential for destroying the house or injuring others.

Prone to becoming a projectile
Fun tp use but it's use is very limited in terms of application and time of usage. Mine finally broke just ejecting it from the handle becoming a projectile and putting a hole in my wall. Good for 10 bucks but that's about it.

A cute toy, but sometimes hard to collapse
The sword comes out well enough but collapsing back into its smaller size takes some doing. This is an updated version of the "Magic Whipper Snapper" toy from the 1960's.
