Desperate Housewives - Complete Series 1-8 - 49-DVD Boxset [ NON-USA FORMAT, PAL, Reg.2 Import - United Kingdom ]

One of my favorite TV shows ever, in a wonderful boxed set! When I saw that "Desperate Housewives" was coming in a boxed set format, I immediately sold my 7 individual sets on Eb@y and pre-ordered this set. I am SO glad I did. The box is not wood, as many people on message boards have been asking. However, it is a very sturdy, thick, pressed cardboard (one of the sturdiest box sets I've seen) covered with a beautiful glossy finish. Inside you will find the individual season sets in the dreaded thin slip cases. I know many people complain about these, but really, I have never had any discs that came in this type of holder to be permanently damaged. I have had some surface scuffs in the past, but nothing that ever affected the playback. The individual seasons are the same as the previous releases, with all the same features, just in these slip cases. The artwork on these slip cases are not of the previous releases...these match each other...but the artwork on the discs all appear to be from the previous releases. I would also like to note that I have had no issues as far as glue being on the discs, discs being dislodged, or any of the issues that I have noticed in other reviews. Perhaps I lucked up with a good, clean set...? The bonus disc comes in a cute little apple shaped sleeve, and has the following features: The End of the Lane: Last Days on Set Curtain Call: The Desperate Housewives Family Cherry Cam(eo) Desperately Dead More From the Series (which consists of some new bonus features from Seasons 3 & 5) Finally, there is a note from Marc Cherry, printed on a thick paper stock (about 5x7 inches) that looks much like a wedding invitation, with embossed designs, where he is basically telling the origins of the show idea and thanks the fans. I love this set, and I am planning to revisit the women, men and all the rest of the residents of Wisteria Lane from beginning to end. And I'm sure I will revisit them again & again in the years to come.

I love Desperate Housewives! I 'grew up' with this show through it's original run, so I am overjoyed to see a Complete Series release. The set itself is truly adorable, with the box designed to look like a wooden chest, featuring gold detailing around the corners and a 'keyhole' to unlock the secrets of Wisteria Lane. The top of the box is embossed with the Adam and Eve design from the opening credits. Inside, the DVDs are housed in various books representing each of the seasons, four on each side. To me, they resemble photo albums and they sport quotes from the shows as well as stills from certain episodes. The bonus disc is housed in a separate sleeve designed to look like an apple. Indeed, apples are featured throughout the box set, one being showcased on the underside of the lid in rich, gleaming crimson and the season books each feature an apple in the stages of being eaten, until only the core remains on the back of the final season. All in all, I could not be happier with Buena Vista and their treatment of this iconic show! The set is rich in detail and most certainly appears like a collector's piece. For true Desperate Housewives fans like myself, it is a piece worthy of pride! Bravo!

Don't buy this packaging disaster. The glue comes off all the packaging onto the disks and ruins your Blu Ray player. I didn't notice it got stuck on one disk which got stuck inside my Blu Ray player and even though I bought a Blu Ray player disk cleaner it remained stuck so my player was ruined and unable to read any Blu Rays at all. I had to buy a disk cleaner for about $10, a new Blue Ray player for about $110 and waste hours hooking up the new Blu Ray player and registering it to accept all the stuff I had before (e.g. Netflix, Pandora, etc.). The show is great. The packaging is a horrific disaster that may ruin your Blu Ray player like it did mine.

I was worried about this "sticky glue" residue on the discs everyone complains about but mine didn't have any! It all runs perfectly ! Spent $105 on this and with no regrets!:) sure the disc carriers are the cardboard holders but it isn't as bad as the others say! I guess they were over exaggerating. Recommended! I am very proud to now own this beautiful production. And this is coming from a 15 year old girl!:-) Fan since I was 8 and I've always wanted the collection but each individual were $40-$50 each! And to have this for $105..just WOW. TOTALLY WORTH IT!

First off this is a great set and at a great price. Yes it does have cardboard sleeves that everyone complains about, but these sets would be a lot more expensive if they weren't. Secondly, this is a REGION B REQUIRED. If you do not own a multi region Blu Ray player this will not work! It was say disc error. There is no way around this. Some Xbox Ones and PS4 allow this region, but depending on where you bought it. Final thoughts: Excellent set and price is great. Don't complain about the set when you didn't read the very large print about it being REGION B! Definitely worth the buy!!!!!

Heel veel dvd’s die niet werken.

mir diese Box zuzulegen . Nach den ganzen teils negativen Rezensionen zu dieser Box, dass sich die DVDs nicht abspielen lassen, dachte ich mir, ich kann es ja auf einen Versuch ankommen lassen. Sollten die Discs nicht funktionieren, schicke ich sie wieder zurück . Nach einer schnellen Lieferung war die Box da, & ich muss sagen, mir gefällt die Aufmachung wirklich supergut. Sehr stabiler Karton in Holzoptik. Meine Box war in einwandfreiem Zustand, keine eingedrückten Ecken & Kanten. Dann kam für mich das Wichtigste überhaupt: Laufen die Discs ? Ich schaue immer auf meiner PS3 & legte somit mit gemischten Gefühlen die erste DVD in den Player. Die DVD lief an, am Anfang, als sie anlief , gab es ein lautes Rauschen & ich dachte nur :Toll! Geht also zurück. Aber sobald sie angelaufen war, gab es kein Rauschen mehr, & die Disc lief einwandfrei! Habe dann alle DVDs mal kurz abgespielt. Immer nur das kurze Rauschen & danach problemloses Abspielen. Habe jetzt die Box fast durch, (bin bei der letzten Staffel), & kann von mir nur sagen, das ich keinerlei Probleme mit den DVDs hatte. Bei 1-2 DVDs war das Rauschen mal ein bisschen lauter, bewegte sich aber in dem Rahmen, dass man es nicht als störend empfinden würde . Ich kann nur sagen, das ich froh bin, es riskiert zu haben, mir diese Box zu bestellen & kann allen Unentschlossenen nur raten, die damit hadern :bestellen oder nicht bestellen? Probiert es aus!

SPIOLERS _ desperate Housewives is a modern classic. it is also an unusual series in that it's weakest part is in the middle with a powerhouse start and finish. Men and women enjoyed this series equally and the variety of characters made it a dangerous street to live on. Guest stars may have pumped the ratings but Bree, Susan Lynette and Gabrielle were the stars of the show. I liked and disliked all the women at some stage but my dislike of Susan Delfino never lifted. Her dependency, whining and all-round neediness left me hoping it was her that the producers would kill when news came of a 'wife' being killed off. unfortunately it was Edie who despite being a horrible character had depth and independence and a blossoming friendship. Lynette was a strong wife who excelled with husband Tom. They needed to split but balance was restored on their renewed marriage. Gabrielle who ties for my favourite female character, and her stormy marriage to Carlos was a highlight. Her sacrifice after he was hurt showed what a good actress Eva is.. I could have done without her children though - terrible actresses. Finally Bree, possibly my favourite wife depending on the episode. Her man marriages and addictions made her the most rounded character who despite failing many times gets her happy ending. a great series with some lulls - if you didn't catch it first time round do yourself a favour & see it now

Esta fue la primer serie que vi en mi vida y me dio gusta encontrarla completa al fin en DVD. La presentación es hermosa. Todos los discos están grabados, serigrafiados con imágenes de las protagonistas. El audio en Español Latino como los especifica en la caja, solo esta en las temporadas 1-4 y 6, las demás solo en Ingles con subtitulos. Sin embargo, hay pequeños detalles que me angustian mucho de esta presentación (OJO): Los 46 discos vienen en en dos cajas grandes. Pero los discos vienen encimados uno sobre el otro !!! Lo cual me preocupa de que con el tiempo se rayen por giran unos sobre otros. En un solo lado donde solo deberían venir 2 discos, vienen 4 encimados !!!! Además para sacarlos, es un problema muy grande. Vienen terriblemente reforzados. Me estresa el tratar de querer sacarlos por tener miedo a quebrarlos. La solución es sencilla vaya, tendré que comprar otro tipo de estuches por separado. Pero es una lastima que no los pueda conservar en su empaque original por estos inconvenientes. Resumiendo... es un super producto, la serie es increíble, tiene doblaje, pero su presentación me deja mucho que desear. Aún así los invito a que lo compren si se consideran fans de la misma. Au vu de certains commentaires, coffret de mauvaise qualité, Dvd pas en français, etc... J'ai longtemps hésité, mais tellement Fan de cette série, j'ai fini par commander. Vraiment satisfaite, très beau coffret, les Dvd ne sont pas abîmés, les saisons sont proposées dans différentes langues. Un vrai plaisir de partager la vie des DESESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, j'adore cette série!!! La vie de tous les jours, les voisins, les amours, les enfants, des crimes, et des rebondissements inattendus. On s'attache aux personnages, on passe vraiment un bon moment de détente.
