Easy to assemble... No... Worth it? YES!!
Firstly I'd like to point out this is not a 'snap fit' style kit, you will have to take apart your joycons and you will need the right tools and confidence to do it.This kit is brilliantly well made and the parts are fantastic quality. The difficulty factor is on Nintendos part manufacturing their products in such an obtuse manner. That being send with plenty ofpatience and good lighting you can easily manage it.The set comes with full housing for the internals, replacement screws (you'll definitely want to use these as triwing screw are the worst) buttons and everything else in between including the tools to fit it.The red set I chose has the 'soft touch' effect and feels really well made, the contrast against the black of the unit itself looks really good. The original button fit with the casing so you can choose to keep them, as I did, or you can use the replacement one the set comes with, it's entirely up to you.Sadly, and this is the only downfall I have, is that the set comes with no instructions what so ever. Whilst this can make it challenging to go ahead and attempt to fit the new covers (in some cases it took me and the other half as on pair of hands just wasn't enough lol) the result is definitely worth it and I love the new look its given my Switch.I will point out I found a fantastic step by step guide on YouTube that helped me fit this set and its really worth having a look yourself for one to watch watch of before you attempt it if in anyway unsure...I've included during and after after pictures for anyone curious.

Super easy and high quality!
I wasn’t ready to pay £80 for official joy cons so gave these shells a try. It was so easy to install and they feel and look authentic. My only disappointment was that the box didn’t come with written instructions and was instead a video online, but this didn’t affect the product in any way. They look great, and I’ll definitely be getting more!

Bad advertisement
I have broken one side of my Nintendo switch controllers and was looking to buy new ones. I clicked onto this product and looked at the pictures and was like” yes this looks good and customisable aswell” so I ordered it. Turns out it was only the case. I am so pissed but your poor advertisement. A case for the joy cons should be the first names for it not somewhere down the line. I was really expecting good controllers instead I got a case for them. Please change your pictures from a controller to just the case because this is really confusing and annoying.

Amazing product, but get your own screwdrivers for an extra £10 to avoid a headache
The item itself is really quite good. You are given extra screws and buttons which is great. Parts fit as good as typical nintendo shells. The problem comes with the included tri-wing screwdriver included. Its god awful and strips every screw. If you do manage to get the screws out use the new included long black screws which are philips heads. Far far easier to use. One joycon took me about an hour with the only problem being the screws. Probably more a nintendo fault. I would suggest getting some fine pointed tweezers so you dont break any ribbon cables. I wouldnt get this product if you are not 100% sure on how to work on micro electronics or have a backup plan incase you break something. All joycon ribbon components can be bought cheap though. All in all great product they just need a better tri-wing screwdriver.

Great quality. A fun DIY project
First time reshelling my joycons so I didn't know what to expect. Found the process pretty easy with a good youtube tutorial and all the spare screws/springs etc included in this set. Like most, I chewed the old screws with the supplied screwdriver but I think that says more about the screws themselves and how cheap and rubbish they are. I used the spares to fasten the joycons back up and the quality difference is obvious. I didn't bother changing the buttons as I prefer the blacks ones, however I would have liked some matching sl/sr buttons which I didn't receive in this kit and thought odd. Had to keep my old ones which are the original colour scheme. Bit disappointing but you don't see those very often so not too bothered. The shell cases feel nice. More matt than nintendo joycons but I quite like that. Can't speak to the button qualifty as I opted not to use them.I'll probably buy some more in the future to shell my other set of joycons. So yes, I would recommend these if you are thinking of doing it. The spare parts are a life saver, between chewed screws and a spring that disappeared into the cosmos, they came in very handy.

Excellent Quality & Battery Life
This product has the same solid feel of an authentic controller. It locks in to all controller and console connections as you would expect. We were pleasantly surprised by the very long battery life, as we are yet to recharge since the initial charge up (over a week of regular use ago!) and there is still a lot of battery power left! One interesting thing to note is the vibration... which is MUCH louder than in authentic controllers - I'd love future releases to have a method to decrease the strength of the vibration to pull it closer to Nintendo's controllers - but other than that these are an excellent buy. Colours perfectly matched photo.

Simple yet confusing?
Simple enough once I got my head round differences in the video compared to what was actually in front of me.I have 0 experience and this took 2 hours.Quality seems good and value for money is okay. Could definitely do with adding the lifting tool and tweezers to the kit.Screws in the official console and joycons are a mix of 3 prong and 4 prong whereas all replacement screws are 4 prong. Also, this is personal opinion, but I don't like that the colours of the buttons are flipped. The are the same when held individually but don't like this colour pattern when they're attached to the console. (Yes, I know this is shown in the pictures but it looked good in the photos whereas I don't like it in person)

Awesome shells!
Disclaimer: the shells do not come with the thumb grip caps, I bought those separately. As you can see I got both the gradient violet blue and the Pikachu and Eev–er I mean "Monsters Brown and Yellow" colors. It's interesting they're the same price because the Pokemon one has more parts because it has custom strap rails. Most of these colors (including the gradient) do not come with the strap shells or shoulder buttons. Just look at the pictures on the listing.Shell swapping is not for the feint of heart as there are lots of little ribbon cables to fiddle with. You'll need good fine motor skills. You may want to practice opening the joy-con before you buy these (careful with the tri wings on the back!!). I did not watch this company's video but there is another YouTube video out there that has a bunch of views I used. There is no video I could find on swapping the strap shells, but I did find a video about how to remove the strap and that helped me understand how to dismantle it and put it back together. I included several pics so you can kind of see how the layers go and how the white locking tab goes. They give you all the plastic parts and the springs, but you do need your own set of straps because it doesn't come with the metal rails or the strap itself. Here's what I did which I recommend if you want to save some money: I bought several "for parts" joy-con off of eBay. Some worked out of the box, several just needed to have the joysticks cleaned to stop the drift (just use a q tip and isopropyl alcohol (70% if you care about not taking the finish off of the shells), there are YouTube videos on it). Several had damaged shells or buttons, and many had the black coming off of the rail that slides into the switch, but I figured you never see that since it's either in the switch or in the controller mount or has the strap rail on, so I didn't care. A couple really did need new joysticks, but I had some spare already. Saved a bunch of money and didn't have to dismantle brand new joy-con (they tend to go for about $10-15 per joy-con). I did however clean off all external parts with alcohol and q-tips since they were used (buttons, rail, etc).I did not use the buttons the gradient came with because I preferred the black, but I did use them with the Pokemon because the solid black without print looks cool. I did not use the screws it came with, except for one of the Pokemon ones I decided to open the pack to use new screws for the back plate because those tri wings strip so easily. And that's when I learned their replacements are Philips!! I highly recommend using those so it's easier to get into them in the future if you need to. The screwdriver it came with will work probably, but I bought another set previously and I used that. The one that comes with this is NOT magnetic which kind of sucks (note the tri wings are not magnetic, but all other screws in it are). I'd recommend getting an actual set, plus you'll get a pry tool and stuff which is super helpful. I wish I could get the shells without the screwdriver because now I have so many.Take your time and if it doesn't fit right look at it again; there was a time I had the release button not lined up right which caused it to not go back together all the way. I'm still not 100% sure I got it back perfect, there is a little space, but it's pretty good and I didn't want to strip anything. Final tip: there is free software you can download on your computer to change what color the switch reads the joy-con as! It was easy to use once I figured out how to download it. It even has a color dropper so I just went to the Amazon listing and picked the exact color they are! These shells feel different from the standard joy-con, but in a good way. I highly recommend these if you've got a few hours and want to take on this challenge and end with some cool joy-con. If you really screw up and break a cable or board just buy a used joy-con or the part and give it another go (I found it to be cheaper to buy a for parts joy-con than just the motherboard). Again, just be real careful with those screws–take your time, press kind of hard, and make sure the screwdriver is perpendicular to the screw. Enjoy!
