This owl bites.
My two year old daughter picked this backpack out. Pre-child, I had some reservations about children on "leashes." But on a recent trip to the zoo, another zoo patron asked me where I purchased my optical frames and within the span of 5 seconds that it took me to answer her - my daughter bolted to look at the ducks. I can't explain the knot I had in my gut and the sudden sharp ache in my heart as I frantically looked around for her. I found her right away, but it felt like an eternity. In comes this fun backpack/safety harness! My daughter immediately fell in love with her new backpack and even makes her daddy and I walk with her around the house. Sometimes I put it on and she pulls me along. This backpack is the perfect size for a small coloring book, the Potette portable potty or, my husbands favorite - some healthy snacks. The material is very durable and we can easily wipe it clean. The only issue that I have with this backpack, is the clip on the harness. I find that I pinch myself almost every time. Putting the harness on my daughter is similar to opening a can of biscuits. It's terrifying, but inevitable. It's not always easy to close and I'm always nervous that I will pinch my daughter. I suppose it's better that it's more difficult for her to get off, but that little clip can cause a world of pain if it pinches you.

Perfect, functional and my daughter likes it!
My daughter is 14 months, 20 lbs and 31" tall. It fit perfectly, with plenty of growing room, but it could also be pulled more snug for a child smaller than her.I was nervous that my daughter would refuse to wear this and I kept thinking I would prefer just a harness (that could be rolled up and stuffed in the diaper bag) instead of carrying around a second bag. But I listened to several people all saying kids love the backpack and I'm glad I did!!! My daughter LOVES IT!! When it first arrived I made a really big deal about her "special backpack" and she squealed and jumped up and down. Then I put it on her in the house a few times so she would get used to it and not be frustrated it was on when we went out. We used it outside for the first time today and it was perfect! I think the backpack will be great when we travel over the holidays. I won't have to dig for her cup or snacks I can just stick them in her bag. Plus, like so many others have said... she can use the backpack even after she outgrows needing a harness.

Cute product. Not fond of the zip tie packaging
We will be taking a flight tomorrow with our 1.5 year old son. He's very active and likes to run around, so I figured I will get a harness backpack to give him some freedom while waiting at the airport. Looking at the offerings on amazon.com, this seems to have the highest review, so I ordered it. It's a really cute bag indeed. The backpack will allow me to put a couple soft toys and some snacks in for him to carry. The metal ring and hook for the harness will hopefully be sturdy and last a long time. The only thing that took off one star is the packaging. The bag is tied to a card board using zip ties. Fine I can cut those off like most products. However there's also a zip tie tying the metal ring and the harness hook together at the bottom of the backpack. It's so tight I swear I thought I was going to cut myself and head to the ER right before going on vacation! It's so tight the zip tie is a tiny ring, with no room to get a scissors' blade in to cut. It's really dangerous. I just wish the manufacturer can change this. It's really not necessary to make it so tight just to keep two parts together in a retail package.

Perfect for giving Little Ones a bit of freedom
Perfect for my little one. She feels like she's free, and loves wearing a backpack like a big kid, but it keeps her close. We use this all the time at places like the mall and zoo. I especially love using it at the bank. I used to hold her while I was at the teller's window, and that would get frustrating at times, but now she's able to stand next to me and I don't have to worry about her running off if I take my eyes off of her for a second.I also love this because she doesn't have to constantly hold our hands. Before this, we would make her hold our had always when she was walking with us. Her little arm would always be outstreched to reach ours. I know how uncomfortable that would get, and I would feel bad for her. Now, unless we're in a parking lot or crossing the street, she gets the relax more. Also, this product is made to last. I've seen others that are not nearly as well made. My neice had one that looked like a stuffed animal, and it fell apart after a couple of wears. This little backpack has already taken a beating, and it still looks new. This is well worth it.

Gender neutral
My kid was safe at the busy Zoo. We have had him wear it around the house with out the leash-strap attachment. (It's nice that it can come off with a clip and u ring) it helped him feel comfortable like he was just wearing a back pack.I felt comfortable putting him in it and he felt like he had his space to run.And the owl is cute for a girl or a boy.

This is the cutest thing
It’s absolutely adorable and my son loves wearing it. The only thing is it hardly holds anything because it’s so small and doesn’t really expand. Which is totally fine but I would like just a little bit of give to get something slightly wider in there.

Best travel item we purchased for our independent kid.
Really glad I purchased this one. I saw another review from someone who bought both the Brica By-My-Side Safety Harness Backpack and this one. The comparison was really helpful because I was leaning towards the Brica because the leash seemed longer and more flexible. This one however, has padded shoulders and a metal clasp for the leash, and is very sturdy. It’s also adorable! I’m so glad I didn’t let reviews that said this leash was too short to sway me. That’s not even how we ended up using it. If I used it to let my child walk ahead of me she would end up pulling away and falling. We actually used it to walk side by side holding hands, and in that instance the leash is just long enough for a little extra security. (I’m 5’7”) My daughter loves her independence. Since she started walking, she doesn’t like strollers or any sort of containment, so this was incredibly useful. Especially in the airport!

Good
Cute little backpack. Wish it was a tad bigger-taller to fit bottles. Great for toddlers to put small toys in and a change of clothes for an afternoon with grandparents. Love that it’s a bag that child can wear

Small bag capacity. Very cute toddler backpack.
Bought this backpack for our son. It is a very cute backpack and my son liked it. However he doesn't use it too often as we can only fit one/two snacks, a small toy and a juice box. His water cup/bottle won't fit and wet wipes or 1-2 diapers are also too big for the bag. I thought it would be able to fit more things in there. We use it occasionally for small outings like the park or the mall - he doesn't like to carry the bag for long periods so we end up carrying the bag along with other items that could not fit in the bag (carrying another bag could be inconvenient as parents need as much free hands as possible for an active toddler). We bought him a leapfrog tablet and the bag was again too small (it would have been great if it fit so we could have more use out of the bag). The bag also comes with a red leash with a metal clasp, we never used it but noted that the length of the leash was a bit short.

Super cute, but....
Very happy with this backpack, and my toddler loves to wear it, but the harness attaching at the bottom of the backpack can cause the child to trip amd fall on their face, if they suddenly run forward (as toddlers do). Not the best design, but still pleased with this adorable purchase and we get lots of compliments on it

Nice. But not practical
This bag is SUPER cute. But it was so so small that it wasn’t very useful or practical for what we were needing it for. I could barely put anything in it.I think it’s not meant to be a backpack to carry stuff as such. More of a for look /leash item.. and your kid will feel special wearing it. I would have kept it for that purpose but not for the price. Returned.

I loved this backpack
I loved this backpack. It did exactly what it was supposed to do (ie, prevent him from running off in the airport). It was roomy enough to store his sippy cup and a pacifier, but small enough to fit inside my carry-on when needed. My son didn't like it when we held the tether, but more than once it stopped him from dashing off while we were distracted. When we weren't holding the tether he didn't mind it at all, as the straps were very comfortable. The only reason I knocked off a star is that the buckle at the front doesn't appear to be adjustable, so when he was wearing a bulky sweater we had to loosen the shoulder straps to get it done up, which made it easier for him to wriggle out of the arm holes.

Super cute but very small
I got this for my 2 year old daughter who likes owls and the colour blue. It's a great little backpack and seems pretty well made. My only complaint is that its a little too small for most of our outtings. She likes to take a doll and a book and her water bottle (and a spare set of clothes and her keyboard and guitar and kitchen sink). And it's not quite big enough to carry much so I end up either carrying stuff by hand or in a diaper bag. We have a different kids backpack which is a little bigger and works perfect for most outings so we don't end up using this one too often
