Join the Cat in the Hat as he takes Sally and Nick on an adventure into space to learn the names of the eight planets in our solar system! Great book
Bought for my 6 year old who was having a hard time reading. I have found these particular level 2 reader books (Step Into Reading) much easier for him to read (and sound out the words). Added bonus was that we learned a few things about each of the planets. Beautiful pictures. Fun read! How can you go wrong with a Cat in The Hat Knows A Lot About That book?!

Oh the planets we’ll know
Ok that was a corny title. We enjoy this book and its colorful illustrations. Both my three and –almost five- year olds really like it. It can be a good start to a conversation about space and planets. It is fun to read out loud and then go get other library books on the topic. In the tradition of other Dr. Seuss books it rhymes. The book is updated to have a sad reminder that Pluto is no longer in the line up and we end our naming game with Neptune. And to make it even better it is a level 2 reader and slowly but surely after several readings my son is starting to feel comfortable reading a few pages when he is in the mood. I expect that after many readings the kids will learn to name the planets without noticing. What a great addition to our kid library!

Fun, easy read for young children.
Cute book but definitely geared toward younger children. I was hoping for a bit more educational information about the planets. A fun, easy read for small children.

Good story for a father to read to his son ...
Good story for a father to read to his son and help the son to learn to read. Quality time is NOT wasted time at all. It bonds a father and son and grandson together.
