Fantastic - Easy to fit, works a treat, brilliant value
Spent ages looking for a smart garage controller (due to repeatedly leaving the door open!) Mostly focused on smart controllers that were getting close to £200, but couldn't find one that ticked all the boxes (alerts, remote control, Alexa integration, check status via an app) Then noticed mention of the Meross controller on a forum, so checked it out.To be honest, I was sceptical on how good it would be for 30 quid, when I was willing to spend 6 times that. Looked at the excellent reviews, and thought 'what's to lose?' Well, I have to say I was not disappointed at all. This is probably the best value gadget I have ever bought!! It seems really good quality, does everything I need, does it well, and was a piece of cake to setup. You need to have a compatible garage door controller, but Meross tell you how to test if yours is not listed (it will work with a much wider range than they list). If you have the option for a pulse switch (basically a push-button to open/close the garage), it should work (and you can keep your existing button.. I have an unusual controller (Teckentrup Carteck Drive 600 Pro). It has a separate wall-mounted control unit, which in my case was the far side of the garage from where I wanted the Meross, so wiring the controller switch cable was my biggest job. If you have a 'normal' opener where the drive unit and controller is in one unit on the ceiling, you'd probably attach the Meross to that).Installation is pretty simple... Firstly, check that you have a good Wi-Fi signal wherever you are going to place the Meross controller. Then wire the switch feed to the push button connection (you will need to get some cable if you're not mounting the Meross on, or next to the garage door closer. Wire the supplied sensor to the door (the magnetic sensor needs to be within about an inch of the magnet) and connect the USB power lead on the Meross to a socket. Then install the app, and it's pretty self-explanatory.Alexa setup was easy and works well (Alexa, is the garage locked/unlocked, lock the garage door, unlock the garage door - you can set a PIN for the latter). Alerts on the app work well to alert you when garage is opened or closed. You can also set alerts to tell you if the garage door is open for more than x minutes, or after a certain time in the day - or even to close it if still open after x o'clock. Just be aware that if you check the status via the app, you may need to drag the screen down to refresh the status.Twice, the app said "failed to unlock the garage", and the garage door stopped, but may have been because of how long the app was set to 'press the switch' for. I changed that and it hadn't happened since. I set the app up on my wife's phone too - you can set the app up on multiple devices, using the same username and password. It would be good, as a future enhancement, to be able to have 'guest' users with their own logins, so that you can see who has controlled the door. It's slightly odd that in the UK you need to use the words lock/unlock with Alexa ('Alexa, lock the garage' as opposed to 'Alexa, close the garage'). Hardly a big deal!Frankly, it just works. All for 30 quid!! Really impressed, and really good value. Very glad I didn't spend nearly 200 quid on one that wouldn't even work with Alexa in the UK!!

Great product - and exceptional after sales support
This is a great piece of kit, and allows me to open the garage from my Apple Watch. It was easy to install, and works alongside the existing opener. When we changed broadband provider recently, I had a problem re-installing the unit, but the after sales support was exceptional. Molly in customer support gave me step-by-step instructions to get the unit working again.I am delighted with this product and would recommend Meross products to anyone.

A cheap and simple smart garage door opener.
This is a great bit of kit. Got it installed and up and running within 1hr on an Entrematic Magic 1000 yesterday, longest part of the install was routing the cable for the door sensor. It is fast and responsive, works well with Google Home, can be added to Home Assistant through a HACS add on. It has a buzzer to alert you to the door closing that can be turned on or off. It is a small unit that can easily be stuck to your existing opener and hidden out of sight. In the end I couldn't reccomend this more for only €36.

Works pretty well and was cheaper than a new controller and unit
For the price it's hard to beat.Easy to install and setup via app. Connected to my WiFi network straight away.I works well with Alexa even in the car if you have it.The app is good however it does seem to time out and not close on the first time of asking, usually have to close the app or wait till it prompts you to adjust the remote timings.Good purchase only issue is the magnet on the door. I have a roller door and it had to be fastened on at an angle with a self tapping screw and glue. I think at some point it will get broken but for now works OK.

Easy to setup and works well
Unboxing this revealed the device with three cables coming out of it, a magnetic door sensor on the end of a long cable, the door frame magnet, a USB charger, some sticky pads, screws and instructions. The three wires coming out the device are the long USB power cable, a cable to connect the magnetic door sensor cable and the signal cable that you wire into your door motor. The device itself is compact and light, so easy to find a suitable location to mount it.Installing it was straight forward. I stuck the device on the side of my door motor using a couple of the supplied sticky pads. I stuck the wired magnetic door sensor on the top of the door and stuck the wire along the top of the belt cover back to the motor. I then stuck the other magnet on the doorframe with around a 1cm gap between the two magnets. Connecting the signal cable was easy for my motor, as it has a couple of spring clips that I inserted the wires into. Then I plugged the USB cable into the power and started setting it up.I downloaded the Meross app and followed the steps. As mine is the Apple HomeKit version, I scanned the barcode on the device, when prompted in the app and it was all connected! It was so simple. I can open and close the door using either Apple Home or the Meross app. You can also add the Meross skill to Alexa and tell your Alexa device to open the door.So far, this opener has been flawless. I’m really pleased with it and it means I can now ditch my door opener key fob.
