Standzfree Floor Stand for 48-Inch Universal Pro Tablet - Black

I purchased this for my spouse who has become a YouTube-aholic, watching and falling asleep to video in bed most nights. Before getting this stand, we'd tried a clamp on-version but the bed frame is tubular metal so it just wouldn't stay put. Holding the iPad is tiresome and propping it up on pillows doesn't achieve a decent viewing angle. Plus, it would be too easy for it to tumble to the floor if she shifted positions after falling asleep. We wanted something that would allow her to lie flat normally and look up. This stand is a super solution! We extended it to its full height and then slid the base between the mattress and box spring near the head of the bed. Then, we curved the gooseneck over the bed and mounted the iPad, angling the holder bracket downward. Because the entire assembly swivels, it's easy for her to rotate it out of the way when she gets up. Now, she can lie flat with one or two pillows with the iPad about 18" above her face, still easily reachable. I do want to note that there's still a small angle in this setup - the iPad isn't perfectly horizontal. This is okay though, the viewing angle is still comfortable. She can shift her eyes, tilt her head or even lie on her side. For comparison, think about where your TV is in relation to the furniture. Not every seat in the room gives you a dead center view. The stand is very well made, very sturdy and fairly heavy. The gooseneck stays where you put it. If I could, I'd add about 6 inches to the length of the gooseneck but it's still pretty darned perfect as is. Watch the price though, $130 is pretty steep - I paid $90 about 2.5 months ago. As a musician with multiple stringed instruments, my spouse was also excited about the possibilities of this stand for music practice. The iPad is used frequently for music learning/reference but placement for visibility while playing has always been an issue. Since this stand is portable and adjustable, it would work well standing or sitting. That's another problem solved. However, since she's reluctant to disturb the bedroom setup, it looks like I'll be buying another one of these stands for the music room!

Neck weakened over time. Not much adjust if using in bed etc

Im really happy with this product. I like to read in bed from my Ipad but got tired of holding up the tablet. When I saw this, I had to try it and Im sure glad I did. Now I dont go to sleep before 3AM lol My petpeeve though is with Amazon not telling us Canadians that we'll be paying customs because the product is shipped from the USA. I was sure that by buying from Amazon CANADA, I wouldnt have to pay customs. Amazon must let us know where the product comes from and how much the custom fees will be so that we'll be able to decide if its worth buying from Amazon or a store nearby instead. PS not sure why we pay customs now as I never did a few years ago, (same with other people I talked to) it all started suddenly and its very annoying when you buy a product at a good price and will pay twice the amount in custom fees. Unless Amazon says where a product is from and the amount for customs, I wont be buying anything on here.

Does not support the weight of the ipad pro very well.

THE best investment you can make for your iPad. It is WONDERFUL for watching things on your iPad. I love to use it in my room when I am all cozy in bed. Worth the $!
