Did the trick
This item arrived opened but covered in tape, it looked unused so no issues. I disassembled it and lubed the contact points and threads with bearing grease. Using a 3/8" impact I was able to expand my exhaust and install after market mufflers. A 1/2 impact with more torque may be needed for a bigger job. But it worked fine for me.

Size discrepancy between package discription versus online description
Package stated 1-1/2" to 2-1/2" but product did not fit into a 1-1/2" inch exhaust pipe. The online discriptioon indicates a 1-13/16" min. Do not buy for a 1-1/2" ID pipe.

Works but read the reviews.
Well made and works good for minor stretching. After reading the reviews and receiving the product, the first thing I did was went to the hardware store and replaced the nut with a grade 8.

Not the item pictured!
I have looked all over for the tool pictured and was very disappointed when I opened the package and saw this KD Tools 2071. I need the tool pictured to repair the flare where the pipe attaches to the manifold. I do not see this one being capable of that job. This tool is the same expander you see everywhere else to make slip fit joints and the directions say turn one cone around to make it flare. The bars that contact the pipe are straight and flat unlike the one pictured. Buyer beware. All that said it looks to be well made for an ordinary expander fitting 1 1/2 - 2 1/2" pipes but pricey for what you get.Update - ToolTopia has been great to deal with I would definitely recommend them based on their excellent customer service.

Unique and useful tool
I needed to put a flare on the end of a pipe and this tool was the only way to do it short of a $2000+ machine. In addition to doing flares, this tool is a good way to make expanded portions of pipe so you can slide it over another piece to make a joint. I have the more common type of expander tool and the KD product works much better. You will need a sledge hammer and some elbow grease but this tool will get the job done very nicely. It also helps to have a vice designed to help pipe. It works best if you work slowly, with one good pound with the hammer and then remove and rotate the tool.It takes time but it creates perfect flares.

Go vert slow
The first time I used this the nut stripped. I replaced it with a grade 8 nut ,Go slow and don't use an impact. It will not work like a big hydraulic unit.

i dont think you could break it using it on reasonable apps.
I guess this would b better in a more experienced arena, although I did use a 1/2 impact on it and it held up, iv'e always trusted g-wrench and I will recommend the tool.
