This is a staight forward, easy read packed with useable strategies and activities to help struggling readers to improve and to help with reading comprehension deficits. Would highly recommend to all content area teachers as well as those teaching any specialized classes designed to help students at the secondary level who are struggling in their core classes. This was a required book for a grad class that has actually been helpful and worth every penny.

Just what I needed

I had to purchase this for an adolescent literacy class, and it was a great read. The authors are experts with ready-to-use strategies for the classrooms. There is also a website that accompanies these books with videos and even more strategies. I would definitely recommend this to secondary teachers as a useful addition to their professional development!
