Safe House

My review should be a 3 1/2 stars, but I'd rather round this one up than down, so that tells you that I liked it more than didn't.Ryan Reynolds is a drone in the CIA, bored being a glorified desk jockey and itching to get involved instead of just sitting and watching the world go by while others live real lives. Then he gets caught up as Johnny on the spot when an old rogue agent, Denzel Washington, shows up in town, pursued by killers who will stop at nothing to get what he has.Now suddenly both of them are on the run trying to stay alive while the noose tightens.Honestly, this is one of those films that got far less recognition than it deserved. Not brilliant or deep, but well told, with good action sequences and tensely plotted. It's a dark film like The Numbers Station or Bourne Identity, but with without the feeling of invincibility that always kept you from worrying about the protagonists in those movies.The only drawbacks were the basic premise (no real thought necessary), choppy editing and the overuse of shaky cam. Even so, I was not disappointed with the time I spent watching and will watch it again in the future.

Everything was believable up until the point at which the media supposedly reported on corruption. In reality, the media is so corrupt and bought out that they would never report true corruption. The Mainstream News Media's real job is to run cover for the corrupt deep state and to slander those who are really trying to expose actual corruption. That's right, justice is truly relegated to the stuff of fiction and fantasy, so that the masses can at least see it in movies. But we will never see true justice, not until the King returns.

Well, Denzel isn't in bad movies most of the time and Ryan was as good as he is. The story was pretty cool and had some real zingers in it. I think it would've been better had they concentrated less on the action scenes- which were good- and more on letting the narrative of the story unfold. There were some sharp and drastic arc's that didn't evolve as well as they could have. All in all though- it's totally worth a watch and borderline owning.

DENZEL WASHINGTON AND RYAN REYNOLDS MAKE THIS FILM POP. EACH ACTOR BRINGS A SPECIFIC SENSE OF REALITY TO THE FILM. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL WORK TOGETHER IN THE FUTURE

This is one in the million alternatives of the "3 days of the Condor" and pretty good copy.I watched only to see Nora Arnezeder in bed but that scene exists only in the trailer.

A good movie to watch. For the time it came out I bet the story was fairly unique but by 2023 standard the most unbelievable part is that anyone would give CNN and the Mainstream media and expect them to cover such an explosive revelation about the intelligence agencies. These days it's far more likely the media would just cover for the CIA.But anyways still a fun watch!

Not often do we see Denzel Washington play the bad guy. Or is he really a bad guy. Perception is everything. Ryan Reynolds starts out as a naïve, innocent and turns into a seasoned operative. Well worth the watch. Full of action, tension, twists and good acting.

cool movie - full of action.

I think Denzel Washington & Ryan Reynolds are two fantastic actors, so I was really looking forward to seeing this movie when it came out (unfortunately I missed it in theatres). Luckily, Amazon.ca was having a great sale on DVDs (Movies & TV shows) one day and I got 'Safe House' dirt cheap.Not to give away too many details, but I will say the storyline was really interesting and the action sequences were amazing. Combine great acting by all the cast, not just the main two, and beautiful settings and you've got one hell of a movie!

Voilà un autre excellent film de Denzel Washington. Il fait parti de mon top 5 d'acteurs favoris. Beaucoup d'action et de suspense, ce film mérite bien sa place dans ma collection dvd personnel. Je le recommande fortement. Livraison rapide.

Action packed, good storyline and with great actors...

Spitzen Film, tolle Schauspieler.Klasse Action Film mit einer guten Handlung. Empfehlenswert. Die Steelbook selber sieht toll aus bin zufrieden bloß nicht wie beschrieben. Sollte wie neu sein aber wenn ich mir eine Steelbook kaufe dann sind da keine Beulen. Werde bei diesem Anbieter nichts mehr bestellen.

It was a good movie and the actors are great. Washington and Reynolds are awesome and there a couple of my favorites.
