I was Really surprised and impressed by the quality construction on this dress. The hidden color-matched zipper down the side torso was a lovely surprise. There are also hidden three quarter tight sleeves under the angel wing sleeves, which have color-matched ties to tie up the angel wing sleeves. It's all one piece, dark and light blue, with gold lace. Totally lovely, sexy fit, but man-made fabric, so don't expect to to wear this on a hot day, you'll feel like you've been plastic wrapped. However, for the Really low price, this dress is freaking Fantastic. Was expecting a lot less, and got a lot more. Evening SCA court, here I come!

This dress is so much more than I was expecting! I was just idly browsing Amazon for future cosplay ideas and was entertaining the idea of doing a Lyanna Stark costume from Game of Thrones. I stumbled upon this blue dress and was amazed by the $30.00 price tag. After a bit more research and comparison, I decided to go for this dress. The price seemed too good to be true, so I figured I'd give it a shot and could return it if it ended up being poor quality. I fully expected this dress to be made of a certain thin see-through Halloween costume material, but it is not. It's still not Hollywood movie set quality, of course, but it's a very nice thick material and is very well-made. I was also worried that the skirt part wouldn't look as full as it does in the Amazon picture, based on what another reviewer said, but I am quite happy with it. The color is true to the online photo (not the one with the model wearing it), and the fit is excellent. I am 5' 9", 145 pounds, and I ordered the size Large. It comes with a side zipper to help put it on and has a tie in the back so you can adjust it to fit. The sleeves are my favorite part and they come with ties to be able to pull back the drapey part if it gets annoying or you need to... let's say, eat a turkey leg at a RenFest. There are regular sleeves inside the draping ones, which is a nice extra touch. The dress does require some serious ironing when you first get it, though, and as you can see in my picture, the gold trim still flips over a bit. I imagine I will just have to iron it more than once to get it to lie flat. Also, you can see a slight difference in the neckline between my photo, the one the model is wearing on Amazon, and the one that does not have a model in it. It is a straight across neckline, not a slight sweetheart, as it appears in the first Amazon photo. It looks like they ironed it to have that extra bit of definition, but it is definitely straight. I hope that this review helps. Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality of this dress for the price, and I can't wait to wear it with my Rhaegar!

I thought the dress was cotton or linen but it's really a thinner fabric (polyester maybe?). Given the low price, I don't mind the thinner fabric! It arrived a little wrinkled but I'm sure I can get that out with some ironing. There is an inner sleeve of the lighter blue fabric that shows when you tie up the long bell sleeves. The inner sleeves are well made and trimmed with the same lace as the collar.This dress looks really good on! It's going to look great with a belt or underbust corset. To make the skirt stand out like in the picture, use a long petticoat/crinoline.

Ordered the black. Didn't realize that there are pretty much 2 different versions of the dress pictured, one with black lace, one with gray. The thing that arrived has very cheap-looking gold and cream lace. The skirt is not pleated as pictured, so it does not naturally fold in on the lighter portions; it hangs evenly all the way around, except for where it bunches up a lot just under the corset-ties. I expected the fabric to be thin, but this is very VERY thin. I'm not sure about the cotton content, but it feels like plastic. It would totally melt if you ironed it too high (have melted a different dress of similar material once before). The ties on the sleeves are much shorter than pictured. I'm not tall, only 5'2", and I usually get items with petite sleeve-lengths. The inner sleeves on this are 3-quarter length at most. They absolutely do NOT hang lower than the angel sleeves when the string is untied (as pictured above; they gave that one longer sleeves and a longer string).

As seen in many of the comments, the upper sleeve sizing continues to be an issue. I'm 5'2" and 120 lbs, but ordered a medium because of the sleeves. While the sleeves fit fine, the rest of the dress was waaay to big. I can't sew well enough to do alterations, so had to pay someone to take about 6" off the the hem and rework the sleeves (which were a good 5" too long at the point. (If you just chop off the ends of the sleeves, you lose the fullness that makes the dress look more medieval). And, even with the shoulders taken up a bit, when I tied the laces in front and back to fit, the black insert bunched up. My advice is to make friends with someone who sews! Good points were that the color of the dress was just like the photo, the fabric wasn't too hot for a May Renaissance Festival (I bought a black cotton half-slip to have a cooler fabric next to me), and it arrived within a month.

The costume is gorgeous and well made. I really like it a lot but let me tell you it is Very Small and the fabric has no give. I am a size 14 with upper "curves" and I had to struggle to get a XXL on...gotta use my corset or an undershaper/spanks for sure. Wish it came in an XXXL! BUT IS BEAUTIFUL!

Very well made for the price. I would definitely go by the measurement chart when determining the size you should buy. I'm 5'2" and it's only about 1/2" too long, so I didn't really feel the need to hem it. Though I did buy a longer ribbon to tie up the back. I'm thinking that if I tried to buy something similar at a Halloween discount store, it would have cost twice as much and would have been not nearly as well made.
