The Shema in the Mezuzah: Listening to Each Other

Being a Christian, I was skeptical about the lesson in this book, but it won my whole-hearted approval and enjoy reading it to my kids. At first, I wasn't impressed with the illustrations, but it fit the environment of the story.

This is a great book for kindergarten aged children. The pictures are large and colorful. The children loved it. It would be wonderful to read to a child before putting up a mezuzah on the doorpost to their room. There are many lessons within this relatively short book. -What is a Mezuzah, What is inside a Mezuzah, What is the Sh'ma, When do you say the Sh'ma, How important is it to LISTEN instead of just arguing, How to compromise.

Exceptional book for "children" of all ages. Models the benefits of patience and consideration of others' perspectives.

I adored this book. It teaches the value of listening and how it makes a positive difference in the lives of everyone around you! Plus, a lovely little bit of Jewish history as well. A beautiful book!

Great book and I love the moral it teaches about listening to each other and shalom bayit. Serves as a good reminder for adults, too. A must read.

The pictures in this book tell it all. It is something even young children will get. The moral is an important one about differences and how to resolve them.

Wonderful story for Jewish children, beautiful graphics and a good storyline.
