Possibly the end-game earphones for me!
I’ve invested a lot of money and time into trying to find that one set of earphones that made me sit back and think WOW when listening to music. Some I’ve tried came close, many disappointed. My brother has been a fan of the Flares pro earphones for a few years having bought the original Flares pro earphones before upgrading to the 2HD’s this year. When I upgraded my DAP to the Fiio M11 this year, I decided to upgrade my earphones as well. The Flares were the fifth set of earphones I tried, including Campfires and Shures. As soon as I started listening to the Flares, I got my WOW! I immediately heard so much more detail and tonality in my music collection that I’d never heard before. It’s amazing but I’m suddenly looking for more opportunities to listen to my music. The earphones come in an impressive cube box with sound dampening foam cutouts on the sides. Inside are three stacked trays. In the top tray are the earphones themselves. The photos of the earphones are a bit deceptive on this listing, as I was expecting a grey colour as shown, but it’s the classic “chrome” coloured finish. The Rhodium finish is very shiny and is apparently very hard wearing. In the next tray is the ‘audiophile’ and ‘everyday’ sets of tips. Also in this tray is the Bluetooth DAC module and it’s charging cable. In the last tray is the soft circular case which holds the last set of tips called ‘regular’ foam tips.I really recommend people try these earphones out. They are the best earphones I’ve ever tried and sound better than some I’ve tried at twice the price.

Nice headphones but expected more for the money.
I can't really review these inner ear monitors entirely fairly as the extent of my usage was pretty much a preliminary test to make sure they worked. After using them both wired and wirelessly with an iPod touch and trying a few of the different buds provided I put them straight back in the box and wasn't compelled to use them for an extended period of time. I'd had my eye on these particular IEM's for quite a while as I'd heard great things about them and read very positive reviews so what I was hoping for was the WOW! factor and to be blown away by the sound. Unfortunately that wasn't my experience. Sure, they sound decent with good response throughout the frequency ranges but I must say, for the price tag I was expecting more. A LOT more. I like the concept of Flare as a company and have used their Isolate earplugs since they released the product in their infancy. As far as IEM's go, what I would be comparing the PRO 2 HD's to would be other mid to higher priced brands that I've owned previously such as Shure, Sennheiser and Bowers & Wilkins, ranging from £120 to £250, all of which I've rated as reasonable to decent sound wise. Therefore, on taking the plunge to spend considerably more on the Flares, I had pretty high expectations. Unfortunately these expectations weren't met and sadly my initial impression was that I've paid way over the odds for a reasonable but by no means extraordinary product. To be fair to Flare, I feel I should probably try some other tips/buds in order to get the optimum airtight seal but first impressions last and the fact that I turned my iPod up to maximum and wasn't overwhelmed with sensory aural pleasure (or deafened) speaks volumes (no pun intended). Nice headphones but not worth the price tag.
