Allure Ribbed Design 2 Piece Bath and Pedestal Toilet Mat Set, 100% Cotton (Mustard)

Honestly would not recommend these. As others have said they feel great when you first get them. Nice thick pile and very soft. However they do not have a rubber backing, which means when you get them wet the dye stains the floor underneath, and when you wash them ( thankfully on their own at a low temperature ) the dye runs like crazy, and then they are no longer soft and attractive. They are OK, but I got a nicer set from Tesco at half the price in a similar colour.

The mat set is efficient enough but the first time wash is a nightmare. Just one cycle was sufficient to block the filter on my machine and the trapped fluff and wool had totally jammed the drainage system. The set was still dripping wet so I cleaned the filter and put it on a quick cycle. Once again the machine stopped and I had to unblock the filter for a second time. I shall persevere once more. If it happens again it’s destined for the bin!I’ve updated my review - attached is the the detritus from this mat after washing. It totally blocked my machine. I originally gave three stars - now make that one!

Although I was very pleased with this buy initially. I am wishing I had not wasted my money. They are nice looking and very soft, but they do not stop shedding white fluff and loads of it. Despite having washed multiple times the fluff doesn't stop coming. I have carpet upstairs and very frustrating for it be covered in a layer of cream fluff. So I can only use in downstairs bathroom where I have hard flooring and not so noticable.

So much fluff has come off these it’s just blocked my pump in the washing machine... water everywhere!! Then it took me a further 20 minutes to scrap it all out of my drum!! Nightmare!!

I was a little concerned about the colour when I ordered it, as I have a RED and white bathroom - but this matches the flooring perfectly. It's a thick cotton with a good weight, but soft and welcoming to bare feet. Because it's fairly heavy, it seems to stay put even without a slip-proof backing. Anti-slip backing can gradually wear off with regular machine washing, but this set should wash and wash without that problem arising. I think it might be wise to wash the set on its own at least the first time, just in case any dye comes out.

The fluff from it comes out and goes everywhere, so much that makes it impossible to use. I washed to try and get rid of the fluff but it just went everywhere. It's now at the back of the storage room, won't be used. It's a shame as it's a nice colour and wasn't cheap either. Wish I hadn't wash it so I could return it. If you don't mind fluff on the bathroom floor then it might be worth a try.

I found mats with rubber back perished after washing a lot of times, and ones without were very sloppy on my hard floor. These seem to stay put on the floor. As I am elderly and prone to falling, this is a big advantage. Also the toilet mats fit neatly around the toilet, otherwise have been too narrow.

When you wake in the night and rush to the toilet forgetting your slippers, the cold stone floor is hateful, so these floor mats become a welcome's addition to your bathroom, these are such good value it is top marks, its made wonder when I was asked about absorbency though, I shall try to remember my slippers next time, Im pretty accurate but are the rest of my family.......?
