Loops are tight, but use them right.
A problem with shell cards is the loops are too loose, and shells fall out while shooting. Not with these. They are tight. Having said that, I almost returned these on day 30 because their tightness makes it difficult to remove with one hand.HOWEVER, I ultimately realized I don't need to have the shells so deep into the loops. I could have half of the shell sticking out while shooting, and it made it much easier to remove the shells with one hand. To sum up, if you put the shells in all the way, they aren't going anywhere, but it makes it difficult to pull a shell and single load, so put it in just far enough to hold it while shooting.

Nice shell carrying option for Taco Pouch users!
These HSG shell holders are a slick addition for your battle belt, chest rig, etc. If I'm working with my shotgun, these panels slip nicely into a Taco Pouch in lieu of a rifle magazine. I don't think they'd work as well with 3 1/2" 12 ga. shells if using in this manner, but 2 3/4" and 3" shells work just fine: the sleeve is retained securely but is easily removed with a quick tug on the attached tab. Shell retention seems snug enough; I imagine that over time, insertion and removal from the Taco Pouches might prematurely wear the shell holder material thin. Like other HSG products, the included Molle adaptor/backing/workmanship are of very high quality. This is a nice product for anyone mixing some shotgun into their range time- while avoiding the need to add/modify load bearing equipment.

Decent design, difficult to use due to webbing material.
These are good, but if you're using this for Airsoft shotgun shells, they are really tight on them. Actual buckshot may not have the same circumference, but I found that the webbing loops aren't very easy to remove shells from and the velcro backing doesn't tend to stay in place when trying to remove them due to how tightly it grips them. Perhaps with more use/stretching they will loosen up, but currently they're so tight it's obnoxiously difficult to work with. The material is definitely different from the other shell holders I have - it doesn't provide a lot of give.

Favorite set so far that I've found on Amazon
So far so good I really like these. The velcro feels strong and the material feels durable. Just wanted to post some pictures becuase there are no pictures of the backside posted. Both pairs have velcro backing but one of the backings has molle attachments. The shotgun shell velcro is the hook side and the backing is the loop side. Unlike the condor version which is the opposite and doesn't make sense. You can rip these off and place it anywhere on your vest or gear since most gear is the loop side of velcro. Five stars just for being so versatile in that aspect.

Ok but could be better
Shell holder loops extremely tight. I understand they’re supposed to be tight enough to keep the shells from falling out during recoil, but these are ridiculously tight, making reload drills difficult and slower than necessary. They have not loosened over time, either.Probably not the cards fault, but these move and shift upon recoil even when using 3M heavy duty velcro.

Love the HSGI V2 Shot Shell Trays
Love the HSGI V2 Shot Shell trays. On the inside of the Tacos I use Haley Strategic Partners MP2 Magazine Pouch Inserts so that the Velcro hooks don’t stick to the inside loops.

Perfect side saddle!
The best velcro side saddle on the market! Holds shells with perfect amount of tension to stay in place while allowing easy removal. Only wish it came with the velcro for the receiver.
