The only dislike i have is i need to use Distilled water but i love everything that came with it right down to the tiny frog. Also i showed my oldest son he 24, He thought it was his gift LOL . We both love carnivorous. update may 20.21 started my kit. Update: I am very disappointed i planted the seed just instructed and they never grew.

It was a real pain crushing up those soil blocks for the terrarium, and was excited to see the first buds peaking out. However they never grew into anything substantial and stayed tiny with tiny leaves, nothing to crush up. I figured after a month it should have grown into something that I would need to take the cover off. I bought it in March and it's now four months later in July with nothing to show for it. The leaves might excite the cute little plastic kitten it comes with!

I got this on March 7th and started it right away. The lava rock is 1.5 inches by 1 inch tall. The dragon is 1 inch by 1in by 1in, so yes it's extremely tiny! I'm a grown adult and wanted a dragon theme going in my new VO Studio. I wanted a little plant life so when I saw this kit I was over the stars and bought it. Yes, dark spaces and growing plants DO NOT go together, so I bought a cheap $10 grow light with a built-in timer. I know that plants need room to grow, so I only planted 1/2 of the seeds and crossed my fingers. Every seed came up even one straggler that took an extra 4 days to show its head. That happened after a week. It's now Mar. 25 and I have my second leaves coming in and they are showing beautiful purple colors. If you buy this you need to know the growth cycle of the Coleus is SLOW and you won't have much success if you don't have HIGH amounts of sunlight (18 hours) for the first 2 months. Grow Lights are KEY! I believe these will be beautiful when they come in fully. If you buy this kit, BUY a grow light and set the timer. This is the one I use and bought on Amazon for $10: GYTF Halo Plant Grow Light, 6000K White LED Full Spectrum Growing Lamp for Indoor Plants, Succulents, Mini Small Plants, Height Adjustable, Dimmable & Timer 4/8/12/18Hrs Coleus love damp soil so keep it moist. And don't touch the seedlings, it will kill them. Really damp soil put the top on and give it over to the sunlight to do its thing. These will grow if a child can be EXTREMELY patient. Just be aware that the DRAGON is extremely tiny and will disappoint a young child. You should also keep it away from children under 5, it's a total choking hazard.

This was the worse disappointment to my child! We followed the directions & it never grew ANYTHING!!! NO WORTH THE MONEY OR TIME… I TOSSED IT IN THE TRASH AFTER 5-6wks of just sitting by the window…I even put it in the refrigerator to get it to go & sprout!!! Nope!!! What a waste! Or mine was a damaged kit. Regardless!!! Won’t get my dollar again!

It takes 6 weeks to 3 months to see the VFT’s even begin to grow. I put the kit together and planted the seeds with distilled water as directed too. I spray them everyday to keep them moist but nothing has happened yet. March 15 is when they were planted.

I gave this 3 stars because my 5 year old nephew really liked it,and we just planted the seeds, so not sure how the plants will turn out. The terrarium is cheap plastic,like a grocery rotisserie chicken container. The dragon is TINY, like less than a dime sized. You only receive like 7 seeds, so if any are duds your out of luck. I wouldn't buy this again for the price.

I ordered this for my cat ..I have grown catnip many times...I've use many kits like this one...I followed the instructions...put it in one of my plant shelves with many other plants...it took forever...only maybe 20-30 little shoots grew...now while all the other plants are thriving... the 1-2 inch shoots are beginning to die...so not worth my time and we are moving ..so my cat will be indoors for a long time and now I need to start all over..
