The product description doesn't really outline the strength in a manner that I found helpful, most colors are listed at "110 lb test" - - what's that mean???I bought of pack of these and went sturgeon fishing yesterday - I was using 6oz and 8oz canon ball weights and casting small herring. The description said "Fishing Line Sinker Slide With Duo-lock Snap Blue High-strength Sinker Slider Stainless Steel Snap Kit"; mine were black and not blue. The snap is pretty beefy, I was impressed with it right out of the bag, but using braided line and having the line occasionally hang up a little during casting I found the plastic eye connecting the snap to the slider would break pretty easily and my weight would go flying.I gave the item 3 stars because in all fairness they didn't really say that it was or wasn't good for casting 6oz lead balls, but having used a lot of different sliders this is the first one that broke with as much ease as I felt these do. Lighter application, maybe using 3 oz weight or less and they may perform fine, but I'd consider what's in line with your casting path.

Total crap product. Looked cheap when I took it out of the packaging so I tested it. With 30lb mono the plastic snapped with ease. It is however stronger than 12lb mono. Either way I don’t trust it with a 3oz weight surf fishing which is what this product is used for mostly. The metal clasp is beefy though but the product is only as strong as it’s weakest link. Do not waste your money on this!

These work very well. Although they arrived with this strange thing in the bag with them! Looks to be a smoking device, that doesn't belong with these.

I use these when I fish the Ohio River. For those who may not be familiar, shore fishing in the Ohio can be a treacherous battle when it comes to keeping your gear working. These are extremely durable and do well in these waters and presumably the ocean as well. I use them with 3-6 ounce leads in heavy current and they seem to manage without much difficulty. The price was very reasonable for the number in the package.

Love ‘em. I put a Thule bobber stop on my line, throw on a couple of plastic beads, followed by the weight slide and a couple more beads. From there, I attach my Santee Cooper rig swivel to the line and I’m ready to go!Fishing with 40-lb monofilament and 60-lb mono leaders, these plastic slides are the weakest point of my rig, meaning that, when I hang up, I can break the slide and all I lose is the slide and the sinker.

To soft even for light weight sinking, lost all my sinkers, 2oz, 4 etc all fly away....I don’t like this, seller need to provide weight it can handle ?

Just came in today but they look like good quality. The plastic is nice and thick. I use mono but I know people complain about some slides getting cut up with braid. It would take a while to get through this. The snap is sturdy metal and clips shut tightly. They shipped out of China. I ordered on July 29th and was given a delivery range of late August through early September. The slides came in on August 7th. Very pleased so far!

Haven't used this as of yet, but ill say it seems like its good enough to do what its meant to do, which is hold weight on the line and keep your weight from cutting or digging into the line after several throws. And these are ALOT bigger then I thought they would be. but they are flexible enough that the snap part lays down nice enough to store in a small compartment of a tackle box
