Reebok Rubber Hex Dumbbell

Great weight and nice color, even after these years I use it and it has lasted all along, barely any stains and nice grip, bring them back!!

I did not encounter that strong odor some people report with this and similar dumbbell products. They arrived wrapped in plastic inside the box and I was prepared to clean them up and air them outside for a day or two. I didn't have to do anything like that.I myself have gotten knock-off, discontinued or irregular versions of merchandise when I don't order direct from Amazon and am wondering if that is the case for others reporting poor quality and strong odors. Buyer beware and read seller reviews, not just product reviews! There are some great third-party sellers and you can spot them by their ratings and how long they have been with Amazon.Anyhow, the hand grips are metal with a gripping texture and if they were more than ten pounds each, I might want some gloves to protect my hands from calluses, etc. but it is really not necessary for these.I am gradually building up my dumbbell collection as my fitness level increases (I am a returning exerciser after years of neglect) and these are a great addition.

I should have spent 5 more dollars to get something that's better quality - my own fault. Came out of the package and already had writing rubbed off. Fortunately they weigh the correct weight and that's the most important. The grip is below average but since I'll be using these at home I can wear gloves without being embarrassed in public. I figured Reebok would have good weights... but now I realized why I haven't bought a pair of Reebok shoes in years.

Folks, it's a dumbbell. What can be said here about it to pump it up, pun intended? The grip is comfortable and the rubber ends are build solidly. This dumbbell resides perfectly under my desk at work where I can pull out it and sneak in much needed workouts during those long boring meetings when I'm on the phone and on mute. Sometimes there are video calls that require me to be on video, so I need to ensure that I'm not making an exercise video on company time. If you're looking for a simple well-built dumbbell, this is it. Get free shipping if you can. This thing weighs like 20 pounds! Duh!

The feel of this weight is great and the rubber coating does protect my floor somewhat from dents. Only complaint is that the weight arrived coated with some kind of preservative or lubrication, and I made the mistake of pumping the iron for a couple minutes just to "test" the weight without removing the coating. Over the next few days, I lost a lot of skin from my hand - there is something REALLY nasty about that coating. It was a real pain to remove too - I had it in the kitchen sink with detergent and a sponge, and I was still having trouble getting the coating off. Would be 5 stars but for this issue. Seems like it should have a big warning on the package about this. I would buy another weight from these guys, since it is well made and not super-expensive, but will scrub it before using it next time...

I have no problem with the dumbbell itself. It is higher quality than most.I was looking to by a PAIR of dumbbells and Amazon presented this as a 'similar' item to the item (which were pairs) I was looking at. I noticed the price was much lower and so ordered it.I received 1 dumbbell, not two. I was surprised.So although the item description seemed to imply a pair, since that was what I was looking for, the price is for one only.I have ordered the second matching one, but I had not been planning on getting such a nice pair.

I bought one of the dumbbell's previously, and it is great. It looks new and serves its purpose. I then bought the one I'm currently reviewing (I would have bought them together but I thought I was buying a pair when I bought the first one.) and it looks old and worn. The color is very faded. It does serve it's purpose, so I'm giving it 3 stars, but I'm not very happy with it.

I wanted to really progress on some fitness goals so in order to put on the pressure to actually do made myself search for weights to use at home. I love the rubber. Not sure why, but it makes a difference. It won't scrape your floors and it looks nicer. Weighs ten pounds like it's supposed to.
