This worked perfectly! I'll buy more when I run out. First I tried stitch witchery because it had worked great for me in the past, but these particular pants refused to cooperate. They would not fuse properly with the stitch witchery and came completely un-hemmed after being laundered one time. So frustrating. I needed an alternative and have 5 pairs of pants I need to hem so I started to panic. Luckily I found this iron-on hem tape and decided to give it a try. I don't always sew my hems and needed a quick fix. This worked out very well. There are directions in Japanese but there are also directions in English. You have to know what your clothing or fabric is made of because cotton is treated differently than synthetics. You wet the iron-on tape before you apply it over the area you want hemmed, which is different than other heat fusion products I have used. This iron-on tape has narrow strips or threads of material that fuses to fabric and it's located on just ONE SIDE only. You have to pay attention to make sure you lay it onto your seam/hem areas with the adhesive side down. I almost ironed it adhesive side up, so heads up there is a little learning curve with this stuff. The added bonus: this covers area where the fabric being folded under and the actual pant leg meet. It's covers the hemmed area so you're not going to get your toe hung up on a hem seam. It looks nice, too. A big plus is this comes in a variety of colors so you can match your clothing or fabrics. There are step by step instructions with illustrations included so you should be able to use this product fairly easily. I always struggle with hem tapes; they are hard to work with, don't stay glued, and fall apart after washing. I prefer sewing instead of taping, but I was in a rush and needed a quick fix when I came across this. I used this to hem a few polyester tablecloths and it worked perfectly. When applying, make sure you dampen the hem tape as stated in the instructions (it will not work otherwise!) place the glue side down (it’s the side that has a more shiny look to it). A quick 2-3 second press of the iron and you're good to go. Wait for it to cool and dry before using. Voila. Seriously, this stuff works and it's so much easier to use compared to the tradition iron on hem tape. Since I used this for tablecloths where people tug, pull, slide and step on it often enough - I wasn't expecting it to last. It held up perfectly though and washed well with no issues. This is my newest favorite hem tape!

It was easy to use and works pretty alright. My only complaint is that, if you buy the white one, it’s difficult to tell which side is the adhesive side since both threads are white, as you can see in the photo. I have to test the small patch first to figure out. Although you could tell the side if you looked at it really carefully, if want to make things easier, buy the one other than the white.

I purchased these to make it easier to hem some of my pants and other clothes. What I love about this product is that it gives the hem a very finished professional look, especially if you match the color of the fabric. Unlike heat bond tape, this product is impregnated with glue. After measuring the length needed, you’ll need to activate the glue by dropping the ribbon into a small container of water to soak a few seconds, and then squeeze out most of the water (please read the directions carefully for the exact instructions). When ironing it onto the fabric, it helps to have a spray bottle with water handy to dampen the ribbon if it gets too dry too fast. If you don’t have one, you can simply dip your fingers in water and then onto the ribbon to add a bit of moisture. Because getting good adhesion requires a very hot iron, you won’t want to use this product on delicate fabrics. It worked great, however, on all of my rayon/cotton blend slacks and jackets. After cutting the legs of the slacks a little bit longer than needed, I turned them inside out, folded the hem the desired amount and ironed it flat. Making sure I had enough ribbon to go all the way around with a little extra at the end to overlap, I placed the wet strip lengthwise along the cut edge. I mostly laid it down as I ironed instead of pinning the whole strip in place. If you do it this way, allow a bit extra in case your measurement was off. It went very smoothly and quickly. The ribbon had great adhesion. The finished look was amazing. So far I’ve used the product on several pairs of slacks, jackets and skirts. The hem is soft and pliable, not stiff in the least. It would be quite easy to add a line of stitching or two if I needed to reinforce it. Overall, this is a great product. I loved it so much, I purchased it in other colors as well. I do also use a lot of heat bond tape. It’s a very different product that requires only the application of heat to fuse it with the fabric. Though this product can be used on a raw edge, one good variation to consider would be to use narrow heat bond tape to create a narrow hem. Then fold it up again and use this product to create the final finished hem. The thing I don’t always like about heat bond is that unlike this product, it can make the hem feel a bit stiff. It’s why I recommend buying both kinds of hemming products and using them according to the type of fabric, situation and desired look and feel.

Works well. Make sure to let the iron stay on the fabric long enough to activate the adhesive. This connects the hem line to the fabric instead of fusing . Easier and looks better I think. changed this to one star. did not hold up to a machine wash. darn.

Tried this product on the hems of 2 pairs of my trousers, following the easy directions & SUPER HAPPY with the RESULTS!! Easily held up the folded up hems of my 2 new pairs of Ponte Pants, like a dream....SO EASY!! Much quicker and easier than having to sew the hems up. Great product!! Lots of colours to choose from as well. I highly recommend this product!!

This was super simple to use to turn up some trousers

I tried this tape on a number of different fabrics. It stuck at first, but after a couple of washes the tape started to come off in places. Had to hem with needle and thread - a combination of this hem tape and sewing seems to work best.
