at a birthday party my kid helped the birthday kid do an excavating thing and he loved it so I thought I could try these! These are messy and all but super fun still. My kid like digging out the dinos and would get excited when he would find one. they are easy enough for kids and hold lots of fun. My only thing is that it is a bunch of separate eggs. and the one he tried at the party was one giant brick and it looked like a dessert like it was set up and we had to search the whole thing for all the items. That was super fun, where as this is one per egg and there are a few eggs.BUT doing it that way I can span out the fun if I want. No matter what way you spin it digging these messy things out is super fun for kids!

Great idea with a very informative fact sheet but extremely hard for a child (even myself!) to do. It took me a solid 10 minutes to get one out. With that said, my son loved watching me excavate and was so excited once the dinosaur came out.Likes-individually boxed so you can share with friends-my son loved the fact sheet with all the dinosaur pictures-I had fun excavating since my son couldn’t do it. Great bonding activity.Dislikes-extremely hard to excavate as an adult. The outer surface area is pretty tough but it did get a little easier toward the middle.-the excavating tool is really small so if you’re the adult trying to help excavate it starts to hurt your wrist.-just something to be aware of, it’s very messy so dress appropriately. Clay comes off very fine and doesn’t brush off clothes easily.

My three year old couldn't get enough of these eggs! He liked them so much, that after getting some Christmas cash from his grandparents, he asked to buy more! The little dinosaurs that came in each egg are surprisingly pretty cool. He kept them all and continues to get hours of play time even after digging them all out. It is pretty darn messy though, so I highly recommend excavating outside. Even still, the dirt that these are made if is rather difficult to sweep up, we had to hose down the back patio even after sweeping. All the mess aside, these things are AWESOME!

Bought these for a party of several kids aged 4-8. The younger ones really enjoyed chiseling away at it and finding the dinosaurs.The dinosaurs are just inexpensive plastic toys which wasn't surprising. The fun is chunking away at the clay to dig them out. The clay does make a bit of a mess, but cleans up easily and just rinses away. Need to be a little careful with the plastic chisels as they could poke fingers.Overall, they are good fun and the kids found them interesting enough to keep them busy digging through them for a bit.

Can't beat the price for the quantity of eggs received. The eggs were given to a group of 2-9 years olds, and everyone of them was silent, trying to excavate the dinosaur inside. I took the egg out of the box and hid in some dirt, like I had found it in the back yard. So much you can do with this product if you have a creative imagination!

I bought this for my four year old nephews birthday. He loves the dinosaurs inside them, but it is a little difficult for him to break it open.

Obviously these are messy. Your kid will quickly learn to bang them against rocks to crack them open rather than delicately scraping with the enclosed tool, but that doesn’t make them any less fun.
