Short cut grip
This is a great substitute when I do not want to wear my gloves. Grips the weights well.

Great for pull-ups
I do a lot of pull-ups at the gym and always used gloves to keep from tearing my hands ups, but they would always start coming apart at the seams and the rubber on the palms would start wearing out. Maybe people who use gloves mostly for weight lifting don’t have that problem because they are mostly just pushing (just a guess), but when you’re doing several sets of pull-ups several times a week, I think hanging from the bar puts a lot of added stress on the seams and it’s difficult to find a pair that will hold up to that stress over time. I’d never seen these before until I saw someone at the gym using them and asked them what they were. He showed them to me, said he really liked them, and had the same problem with gloves. So I came home, looked for them on Amazon and found these. After seeing some reviews that the more padded grip types show more wear, I ordered a pair of the “Firm Grip” pads to try. I don’t need a lot of padding. I just need something that protects my hands and gives me a better grip so I can do more. I wasn’t sure about them at first, so I waited until I had a chance to use them for a while before writing this review. Being used to gloves, they aren’t quite as convenient as putting on a pair and just leaving them on, (although I see they do have some with hands straps) and you have to get used to where/how you place them on your palms, but after week or so of using them, it became second nature and I don’t even think about it. Also, I’m not “Joe Weight Lifter Guy” like most guys I see at the gym using gloves. I do mostly machines, pull-ups, dips, etc., and always felt a little silly with gloves for everything, but it was inconvenient to keep taking them on and off and having bulky gloves in my pocket. With these, I just keep them in my pocket to pull out when I need them, and it’s nice that they lay flat with no bulk. After 2 months of use, I’m very happy with these and they show zero signs of wear. I’m pretty sure these are going to last a very long time. If you are like me and looking for something mostly for pull-ups or just want a little padding with more grip, I highly recommend the “Firm Grip” option.

Great alternative to gloves
I tend to try to do most of my workout w/out crutches(gloves, straps, etc) to increase grip strength & to keep the contents of my gym bag as minimal as possible. In the case of barbell shrugs, these tend to leave uncomfortable callouses on my hands that w/ out some sort of barrier between my hand & the bar, will eventually open up & bleed all over the bar, very unsanitary. Gloves are not my favorite as it tends to move around while gripping & distracts me from the actual exercise. Once these grip pads came, I noticed that although not as good as bare hands, it's the closest thing to it. These provide just the slightest amount of cushioning while also providing extra grip due to the rubbery type texture. I've even started using these on lat pull downs & I'm able to squeeze a rep or 2 more since sweat is not an issue anymore for me when using these grippers. I've been using these for close to 2 months & no sign of significant wear & it's so minimalistic, I don't even notice them in my gym bag which is always a plus! For about half the price of traditional workout gloves, these were a great investment for me, as I use them at least 3x a week & I've almost completely retired my gym gloves.

Better than wearing sweaty gloves!
I'll admit I was a little skeptical at first, but honest Amazon customers have helped me once again! I was tired of wearing weight lifting gloves (I've been using gloves for over 10 years). So I came on Amazon and I was actually searching for something else. Honestly, I wanted better gloves than the ones I had because they are cheap, ripped easily and the dye on them started to bleed really bad every time I washed them. During my search, I found these. Firm Grip Power Pads. Okay, what makes them so good you ask? Pros: + Lightweight + Easy to clean and dries fast + Can be used to grip a variety of weights, bars, dumbbells, barbells, resistance cords. + Fits in my gym short pockets + Bendable + Does not leave your hands feeling sweaty and damp + Not slippery + Makes everyone at the gym look at you because you are using superior technology + Provides a lot of grip + 10x better than using gloves + Bench press, curl barbells, curl dumbbells with no problems Cons - Has a smell that wears off, but is still there after three months of use - Might get misplaced since they are not attached to your hands - Could slip, but hasn't slipped on me once yet - No wrist support, but I knew that before purchasing I love these firm grip power pads. I suggest you buy the firm grip ones because they can be used for a variety of workouts. I will definitely buy these again when mines are no longer good. But three months in and they are still going strong!

Better solution than gloves and chalk
This is my second pair of power pads, I finally wore out my first pair after two and a half years of about 3 times per week use. When I first started working out, I wore workout gloves. I learned after a while that workout gloves actually weaken your grip, so I stopped using them. I went to using chalk, which works great, but makes a mess, isn't the most convenient, and left me developing large and thick callouses on my hands. Not to mention, some gyms flat out prohibit the use of chalk. While it looked manly, I found the ladies in my life didn't appreciate my construction worker-like hands. These are the perfect compromise--they work well, give improved grip (as good as chalk or perhaps better), don't slip out of my hands even when I get sweaty, protect my hands from getting dry, scratchy, and calloused, and they're cheaper than most of the workout gloves I used to wear too. Do yourself (and your significant other) a favor: get these for your gym workouts.

These grip pads are amazing. Ordered the 1/8inch thickness and very happy with the purchase. I mainly use them for pullups as my pull-up bar is slightly too thin and causes major calluses. A few months ago ordered a different brand which was too thick in my opinion and made pullups feel awkward at best. Using these 1/8inch pads for pullups is perfect and although I've only been using them for a couple of weeks they seem like they'll last quite some time. Great product! Would definitely order again if they end up wearing out over the next few months.

In the past I preferred not to use any lifting gloves or pads, however, after suffering a serious life long injury, I now need gloves and pads when training. I find with the pressure of the weights on my hands they get sore very easily. I have been using a set of pads from many years ago. There is absolutely no comparison, my new Grip Power Pads are superior. I’m so pleased that not only that I ordered them but they were here so quickly. I have no doubt that I will use these for many workouts. Definitely need a pair for my gym bag and a pair for home. Thank you.

Opened it and the grips were worn out and appear used. Waited for almost 2 weeks for shipping to Singapore, and grips came like this. Horrible. My first pair, after using for 2 years, weren't even like that. Wanted a new pair as mine was lost, but this is just downright disappointing. Will not order again. Please refer to image. More than $20 for this crap.
