This is a good thing to have if your box fan is on a window. Filtering is good for this type of filter at this price. There is some loss of airflow, but not so much as to matter in my situation. Washing removed enough dirt from the filter to satisfy me and I prefer a cleanable filter that will last to a disposable one.Overall I am happy with the way this works.The only reason that it is not 5 stars is that it is kind of a pain to get the filter to stay on the fan consistently using the provided clips. The clips are generic and fit the middle range of potential fans. In the case of my two (different brand) box fans neither fit particularly well. In both cases the filter just hung loosely and it would not stay put when the fan was off and suction ceased. At least one clip came off any time I moved the fan. Fortunately this was solvable. I punched new holes in the filter at exactly the locations needed to clip onto the larger parts of the plastic fan cover. That worked well enough to make me happy. But I also had some cable management clips that had adhesive backs and a loop to hold cords. Placed right in seven places (four corners, both sides middle, and top middle), these hold the filter in place securely and with no slips. Most people would just have been happy with the new holes and better clip position.For the amount of crud it catches, it is worth the effort. The price is good for what you get.

My daughter is allergic to the dust and dander in this big drafty house. I can’t afford an actual air cleaner, especially for every room, but I have fans, and they always get full of hair and dust. This filter is a great cheap alternative, for filtering out some of that.The clips are loose, they don’t hold onto the screen. Even though it looks like the filter was made for this fan. It comes with holes you can push out to put the cord through and reach the knob, for those fans with the stuff on the back.When you turn on the fan it holds the filter in place anyway. It’s not perfect, not meant to filter 100% of the air, but it’s really awesome for pet owners because all that hair will stay on the filter. And then, it’s washable! And air dry. I just got it so I don’t know yet how well it washes. But I’m good at laundry so I’m not worried.I was worried about it restricting the air flow but it’s fine right now. I imagine once it gets dirty it might restrict the flow, just like any filter. That’s when you wash it.

This filter fits my box fan perfectly. The clips that hold the filter to the fan work fine. They are not tight, but really are only there to keep the filter from falling when the fan is off. When the fan is turned on they snug up to the grill just fine. There is a trade off: The filter does have a bigger than desired impact on air flow, but if you have allergies and/or pets it's good to have. I have 2 cats so keeping pet hair and dander from flying everywhere was my main reason for purchase. If you are careful when cleaning/washing they keep their shape.

I bought this for the box fan that I use at night when I’m sleeping. I have 3 dogs and live in a desert so my house gets dusty quickly. I’ve been using it for 2 months and the filter is really dirty and my fan doesn’t have a spec of dust on it. I would recommend vacuuming it to clean it instead of hand washing. Other reviews said it starting coming apart after hand washing it so I vacuumed it while it was on the fan. I held it at the top of the filter and used the hand held tool and vacuumed from top to bottom.

Very easy to install however one of the filters was 19 x 19” no 20x20 so that was a little tricky to figure out but it still works beautifully definitely worthwhile and I will be purchasing again

It works, dust definitely is trapped by it because it gets dirty pretty quick. It's easy to install a well as easy to remove and clean.The downside is it really cuts down on airflow. On high the fan with the filter installed pushes less air than the fan on low without the filter. So when it's hot, you might need to remove it. But, that's to be expected and not the filter's fault per se.

takes two of them to make a box fan not see-through. The clips didn't grip my fan grate. I had to heat them with a heat gun while holding them together to shrink the gap so they would clip properly. A hair dryer would work too.

Worked fine after reconfiguring the plastic holder pins in the corners ... of the size is right you can easily “Jerry -rig” the corners to stay on with duct tape... THINK THE PRICE SJHOULD BE LOWER DUE TO THAT ISSUE !!😲

Literally the clips are useless. It is just foam cut to box fan size. Go to store buy your own with double sided tape for less than $5. I'd return it if worth the hassle

Very easy to use.
