Hit!

The movie is good with a lot of action! Actor Billy Dee Williams is good as federal agent Nick Allen who seeks justice after his daughter died of a heroin overdose. Nick organizes a group of ex-cons to kill the nine leaders of a drug syndicate in Marseilles. At first the ex-cons didn't want to do it but they, too, were seeking revenge; all the actors and actresses in the movie were good but I felt that actor/comedian Richard Pryor was out place when he added comedy in the movie. Today is actor Billy Dee Williams's birthday and I hope he is having a blessed day (he is my all-time favorite actor). The ending is scary! Actors Billy Dee Williams and Richard Pryor were terrific but they were trapped in a boring police ‘thriller’. I watched it for the scenery and to reminisce on the Purse Seiner ‘Victory’ that also starred in the film. For some reason it was featured in quite a few scenes with the actors aboard the boat or with the boat set prominently in the background. It looked good and well kept and had a I understand that it had a prominent history having been in the Puget Sound area for about 85 years I believe. It was likely about 60 years old when the movie was produced. I had the distinct privilege of seeing her in her last days afloat and it was great to see the boat again in this film.

This pertains to the streamed movie. There are some fairly long scenes with dialogue only in French, but with no English subtitles. Since the film is already unusually long for its subject and for the most part quite slowly paced, these scenes seemed excessive. Some of the writing was stilted and a few of the (minor) speaking parts were done by actors who seemed to be amateurs. Billy Dee Williams did a good job.

I got the package early, and still factory sealed! Can't wait to watch it!

I was only a year old when this movie came out, but overall I enjoyed it. Just enough suspense and action to keep you entertained!

The sister of Billie Dee Williams dies from a drug injection given to her by her boyfriend, so BDW decides to kill the top men in the drug cabal. Lack of English subtitles for French dialogue hampers understanding of weak plot. Acting is exceptionally poor. Pass on it.

Good film from the 70's Era with great acting.

Surprisingly good movie with a decent plot. Billy D Williams puts together a team of assassins that he blackmails or strongly influences to help him take down the huge drug suppliers who are bringing drugs into the US. Williams character is a CIA agent who loses his daughter to a drug overdose. He selects a group who all have different skills and talents to help take down a major drug network. Well written script with a decent plot and solid action.

Brilliant double bill on DVD. I had never even heard of the film THE HIT so I was delighted how good it was. To make it even better they released them as MOD titles so they can play on my UK dvd player.

Great procedural thriller. Good b-list acting crew, good stiory and a great ending. Not top rank 70's fare, but not far off

Intendiamoci: non un capolavoro ma un film che mancava all'appello da troppo tempo. Sidney J. Furie si mette al servizio di una storia che paga tributo a Il braccio violento della legge e ai coevi culti blax di quegli anni. La grana dell'immagine non potrà che commuovere profondamente chi non è mai uscito, sentimentalmente dagli anni Settanata, e poi c'è Richard Pryor e di più, davvero, è difficile chiedere a un piccolo film come questo. Beninteso: solo per veri e sinceri cultori della materia, nonostante la qualità intrinseca del film stesso sia indiscutibile.

リージョンフリーのブルーレイですので、我が国のレコーダーでも鑑賞可能。但し、日本語字幕は勿論英語字幕もありません。特典は劇場用予告編のみ。画質は可もなく不可もなくといったところです。ブルーレイにしてはイマイチかもしれませんが。日本では全くソフト化されてはいませんので、本作を鑑賞するには本ソフトを含めた海外版を購入するしか鑑賞方法はありません。本作に限って言えば字幕なしでも充分鑑賞に堪えられます。それぐらいストーリーは単純ですから。「黒いジャガー」の大ヒットから始まったブラックスプロイテーション・シネマが大流行していた時であり、素晴らしい作品もあればZ級の作品もありと正に玉石混淆の様相を呈していたが、本作は玉の部類に含まれるのでは。ブラックスプロイテーション・シネマらしく脚本も演出も荒っぽい上にご都合主義丸出しですので、アラを探せばいくらでも見つかりますが、フレッド・ウィリアムソンやジム・ケリーの主演作と比べると遥かにマシでしょう。まずこの邦題ですが、本作に関し何の知識もない方ならば「007/黄金銃を持つ男」の様に黄金の映写機が絡んだ犯罪物かと思われるでしょう。例えば黄金でできた映写機（＝プロジェクター）の争奪戦の様な。ところが黄金で出来た映写機は愚かプロジェクターのプの字も関係ありません。プロジェクターと言う単語はプロジェクトを計画立案する人と言う意味で使っているようです。粗筋を簡単に記しますと、連邦捜査官のニック・アレン（ウィリアムス）は娘ジーニーをヘロインの過剰摂取で亡くしてしまう。怒り狂ったアレンは娘にヘロインを売った売人を痛めつけ、ヘロインの供給元がマルセイユの麻薬シンジケートである事を聞き出し、シンジケートの9人の幹部に復讐する事を決意する。アレンは復讐する為に麻薬絡みの暗い過去を持つ人間たちを集め、所謂必殺仕置人部隊を組織するのであったぁぁぁぁぁ。ってな感じです。良くも悪くもアクションは控えめ。どちらかと言えば物語の内容で見せようとしており、ブラックスプロイテーション・シネマにしてはランニングタイムが134分とチョイ長めです。必殺仕置人部隊を集めるエピソードが悪く言えばやや冗長な感じがしますね。良く言えば人間ドラマを丁寧に描き込んでいるとも言えますが。この必殺仕置人部隊の面子がヴァラエティに富んでいて結構楽しませてくれます。リチャード・プライアー（この人には珍しく超大真面目な演技を披露してくれます）が演じるマイク・ウィルマーは元海軍兵と言う設定ですし、元狙撃兵の大学教授（ポール・ハンプトン）、悪徳警官（ウォーレン・ケマーリング）辺りは仕置人になっても解らなくもないですが、グウェン・ウェルズ演じるシェリー・ネルソンはドラッグ中毒のコール・ガール。ユダヤ人の中年夫婦（シド・メルトン、ジャネット・ブランド）に至っては動機も？？？ですし『お前ら殺しなんて出来るの？？？』と言いたくなりますが、これが見事にやってくれるんですねぇ。ジャケットにウィリアムスがバズーカ砲を小脇に抱え、バックで大爆破が起こっている写真が写っていますが、原題は正にここからきているんでしょう。日本公開時のポスターの絵柄の方が私は好きですが。
