Thin pages but better to buy new than used
I bought these for class because my bookstore was only selling used ones because I waited until class to make sure what books where needed. We used all 3 books for my World Literature class(one of the few college classes that actually used the textbooks and were required for class) and of course they were helpful. Some of the stories are not all that interesting in my opinion that we had to read but I'll leave that review for the class review. The pages are really thin but it's similar to what you get in your bookstore so it really doesn't matter where you buy them. A classmate of mine bought his used from the bookstore and had pages falling out so I suggest buy new!Only benefit to buying used is you might get lucky and have the student write notes on stories or poems you may have in class as well. I chose not to write notes in the book or highlight as I planned to sell it to the bookstore or a student. I actually ended up selling to a student for $30 for all books. I wanted to try to get $40 but it was the end of the semester and the bookstore sells used for $36 so I just took $30.

which is a disappointment; it makes it hard to annotate while reading ...
Some of the longer stories that are included are incomplete in this anthology, which is understandable but makes me wonder what I am missing when it jumps and all of a sudden something is happening and I have no idea why. Overall the majority of stories seem complete, however, as they are shorter in length. The paper is quite thin, though, which is a disappointment; it makes it hard to annotate while reading for my literature class, and they also tear easily (though so far I only have a couple of very small tears that do not affect the book negatively). I do greatly enjoy having the introduction sections to each major section (i.e., postcolonial, modern), and then for each author as well. It adds great insight to the stories that were included in the anthology.Overall a great collection and I am glad I bought it.

Great Anthology on Not so great book
I like the composition of works within this collection, and the background information they provide about each author and writer. This anthology would have a 5 star if it wasn't for low quality paper that this anthology is printed on, I mean for a high quality work, the binding and paper that it is written on should also be high quality as well. But no, the publisher love their profit too much so they cut corner by printing the anthology on these super thin paper that with just a little moist in your finger the page would wrinkled.

Only 1 of 3 Volumes/Books Received - Mislabeled
Disappointed as only 1 of 3 books received. This was advertised as the Third Edition, Volume D, E, and F. Only received Volume D. I need the other volumes for class. Will be returning. Took longer than anticipated to receive as well.

It's a pretty decent anthology
It's a pretty decent anthology. I used it in my world literature class and honestly could have found most of the readings for free online, but Puchner wrote a lot of good proceeding information to each of the works that I was able to use in my papers. I would have had to do more research on my own if it weren't for the useful info in this collection.

The books are in good condition, but the choice in wrapping was poor
These books were in good condition and I am grateful for that, but what I initially thought was a binding to hold all of the books together turned out to be a large strip of black tape with a rubber band beneath. Luckily I was able to remove it, but I did almost tear the cover because of it.
