Powerland PDW100 600 Watt 6.5 HP OHV 4-Stroke Gas Powered Portable Generator/100 Amp Welder Combo

After couple of days this welder cannot run even 1/16 welding rods, and it is not usable or powerful as described. It said it could produce 100A, but I could get only around 35A maximum. If purchased this machine, do no account on welder at all.Cycle welding is 4 minutes welding and 6 minutes cooling. Which is really bad. After couple of small projects, welder is not usable...............For generator I used halogen lights and breaker was keeping popping out. Generator has only one input port, and it could run a little grinder or one bulb light..........This machine is just wasting money, and keeping your valuable place. I am sorry because there is no "0" stars.

Our welder arrived a day ahead of anticipated delivery date. It was packaged well with plenty of protection against damage. However, when removed from the box I found that one of the insulators at the positive cable terminal was cracked. It appeared that this happened at the factory or during packaging for shipment as there was no corresponding damage on the outer packaging or Styrofoam liner. The damage was minor and didn't prevent operation of the unit and after a quick call to the toll free number located on the front page of the manual, a replacement part was on its way without a fuss. I was very impressed with the prompt attention and professional service I received from the representative. The welder frame and wheel kit is not as shown in the marketing picture, but is more of what you would find on a portable generator. Frame is substantially made and surrounds the engine and power unit. It provides good protection for the unit and accommodates the installation of the provided fold away transportation handles. Two good quality solid rubber wheels are mounted on a solid axle at the end opposite the folding handles allowing the unit to be moved easily in a wheel barrel fashion. When operating the unit remains stationary on the two wheels and two short steel legs with rubber isolators mounted at the folding handle end of the machine. A quick review of the instructions, added engine oil and gasoline and the unit started after just a few tugs on the pull cord. I was amazed at how quiet the unit was. Granted, when you are welding and the unit is under a load, it makes a bit of noise, but overall its very tolerable. The unit was purchased primarily as a portable welder and I have to say that it has not been a disappointment. I have used it to weld 1/8" to 1/4" mild steel and it has performed better than expected. Plenty of steady amperage for good penetration and consistent welds. The generator function was not why the unit was purchased, but it appears to be able to run most power tools without a problem, which has turned out to be a bonus as well. Now I can power up the 4" grinder and dress up my welds or the recip saw to cut metal to length without needing a stand alone generator or power inverter. For me its a win / win! Reasonable build quality at a reasonable price and it gets the job done every-time, whats not to like?

Best little money maker Iv ever bought. Great for little projects. I install gates and it paid for itself on the first job. light weight easy to carry around, doesn't come with four wheels like it shows in the pic, only two in the back and two handle bars in the front. All in all great welder never have a problem turning it on runs like a champ every time.

This is really a nice unit accept that every one selling this same model claims its a 600 watt total Maximum output and Amazon says its a 1000 Watt unit. The litterature that comes with the unit also states Maximum output is 600 watt. So which is it, to my knowledge there is no supplement correcting the manual's claim of 600watt which Amazon is selling it as a 1000 Watt. Other than that I consider this unit very nice but watch what you pay for?
