Fit on a 97 Honda Civic LX
The car is the early days of OB2, and was not spitting any codes other then the upstream o2 sensor, so I was chasing a ghost trying to figure it out. Symptoms were all over the place. Started out with low idle and occasional stalling at stops, and progressed into various intermittent symptoms such as hard starts, breaking up under throttle, then would clear out, only to come back. also would stumble when the kickdown was engaged as if being starved for gas. The fuel pump was getting pretty loud as well, was original with over 155k on It, so I installed a new pump & filter just to see, since I figured It would be good preventative maintenance either way. That seemed to help for all of about 10 minutes then symptoms came back. changed the plugs, air filter, cleaned the throttle body, and still made no change. Again all these parts were due to be changed anyhow. Changed the distributor, because I was able to get a new aftermarket for not more then the price of a new rotor, cap, and wires. Still no help. I knew the upstream o2 sensor needed changed due to the code I was getting, so had already ordered that, after pulling the heat shield, I noticed the exhaust manifold was cracked, so patched that, and installed the o2. No change although wasn't expecting any with that. Throughout this whole ordeal MAP sensor was in the back of My mind, and I had cleaner, but this one didn't look as serviceable as the one in My tundra, which I clean occasionally. so finally I found this one here on amazon for an almost too cheap of a price compared to oem, but I didn't want to pay for OEM, and It end up not being the problem, so since this was so cheaply priced, I took the chance just to see what would happen, then figured I'd buy OEM if It there was any positive change. At this point I did 2 things before trying the car again. I put this MAP sensor on, and cleaned the magnet on the IACV with some carb cleaner. I did not take the whole thing off and clean It like some people do. I simply unscrewed the part that the electrical connector goes to, pulled the little magnet out and cleaned It. The car has been running great every since. Not sure which one was the problem for sure, but while researching, forums there were tons of people experiencing similar problems. A few found that various things I previously did helped, while others just kept dumping money on parts to no avail. Before doing all that, if someone had similar issues, I would recommend testing the Map sensor first, or if not comfortable with that, simply purchase this one and try It. If that doesn't work try cleaning the magnet on the IACV like I did. Those were the 2 cheapest things I tried, and one of them fixed the problem. More then likely the MAP sensor was the issue, but if not cleaning the other is virtually free if you already have the cleaner on hand and want to try that. Obviously this will not help everyone, but hopefully at will at least help a few having an issue like this, and save them some money chasing a ghost like I did.

Worked perfectly on 4-Cyl Accord
Had to remove throttle body to remove rusted screws requiring new throttle body mounting gasket. Replaced screws with stainless steel socket head screws so I could replace in the future with hex key (allen wrench). Consider removing the screws from the throttle position sensor and replace with socket head screws as well to make throttle position sensor serviceable without removing throttle body in the future. Also needed to clean the throttle body with throttle body cleaner spray.

Did not work, recycled unit did. The O ring worked
Failed immediately upon installation vehicle would run for one second and then quit. Reset code 3, map sensor electrical failure. Previously I had r&r throttle body and cleaned all ports and passageways then rinsed in injector cleaner, followed by air dry. Checked throttle plate clearance and installed new factory gaskets removed contacts from connector and re affirmed the connections to the new sensor as being snug.rechecked the circuits again and each was within spec. Purchased used unit from recycler and vehicle operates within specs. The “O”ring worked
