High quality planter
These planters make the yard look fancy. They are high quality and sturdy. No problem holding the weight of the dirt and plant as they grow!

Easy maintenance
I have bought many Mayne planters (over a dozen) over the last 10 years.I use them for vegetables, blueberries, and flowers. The oldest ones still look new with pressure washing. No leaks. They insulate well as the Florida sun can heat planters up quickly. Watering is drastically reduced. The drainage overflow keeps the soil from staying too wet with our rains. The only trouble I have sometimes is on my 10 year old planters and cleaning out the reservoir. I only use organic fertilizers ie worm castings, compost, guano etc. which can silt down into the reservoir. It takes time to flush it out but it's a small price to pay for planters that look this good after many years in the Florida sun. They are expensive but worth it IMHO. Photo shown is a 24 x 11 with red romaine and in the background is a large one with a 7 year old blueberry bush.

Beautiful- but too expensive for the actual planting space
I really like the look of this planter and it seems well made and sturdy. I purchased it because it was deeper than most of the other options - and I liked the water reservoir. However - the water reservoir takes up the extra depth and the thick walls take up a lot of the interior space. So -- it seems very expensive for the amount of actual planting room. I was able to plant 4 strawberry plants in each - but I know even they are overcrowded and I won't be able to expect much from them. Also - the planters came with 2 sheets of paper and a small black rubber piece. One sheet of paper was all about a photo contest. The other paper showed many other types of planters and a short description of the planter showing the water reservoir and overflow etc. Nothing explained the rubber piece and it didn't fit on anything. We filled and planted it anyway- but if they felt the need to include the rubber piece .... I wish they would have said where/how to install it.

Wonderfully made Planter Boxes
I would highly recommend this product for your planter box needs. I personally have placed them in my shade garden I had specially constructed to put my shade loving Begonias. Fits well under the Archway I installed - they are off-center under the archway with a statue that is centered underneath. These are really light weight planter boxes, hold up well to the elements. I like the self-watering reservoir feature of these. My only con would be that the holes needed to enable the built-in reservoir were pre-drilled already. Mayne already supplies the rubber cover gaskets - so why not just have them already drilled and ready to go.

my goodness this is 10-star quality! Heavy, wellmade, beautiful!
It exceeded my expectations in the weight and sturdiness and overall appearance, I don't think the wind will be blowing it off the patio. no danger of slats warping or falling out since it's one solid piece. I bought artificial boxwood greenery to fill it, it's a total of 14 stems for now inserted into a block of foam I wedged down tight and painted the top brown to resemble dirt. I plan to put a treated board down on the ledge to make a false bottom, then drill holes in the board to insert the stems of the greenery so they can't blow away. Photos added.

Disappointed
First of look pretty on outside. My trellis is 24 inches wide and it was the closest I could find. It was not deep enough. I had to go back and find smaller climbers. I followed directions to a tee. It would not drain. I had 3 people who have similar planters help me still nothing. We tried drilling holes in bottom to no avail because bottom is seperate from real bottom. Tried drilling holes in back and side. I was so so sad. It was $ $73 and after all that I could even send it back and chose another. Too bad. I will never purchase a self watering planter again.

Nice product
Bought it in sale from Amazon, was cheaper than stores. Nice size and finish, lightweight but looks expensive and heavy.

they were a very good buy. The current price is too high for ...
I bought 2 of these white planters for our victorian home. I purchased mine for quite a bit less than the current posted price. For what I paid for them, they were a very good buy. The current price is too high for me, but I am somewhat thrifty and always looking for a good buy. They are a very solid product and I anticipate that they will last a number of years and still look like new. I have had positive from the neighbours,, so that is usually a good sign they look pretty nice..
