Dreamland: An Autobiography

Outstanding documentation of US Special Access Programs on UAP reverse engineering
I'm a biomedical engineer with additional physics / biophysics background. I've researched all the threads of the Lazar material, including this book. The overall story checks out as extremely consistent, both from a scientific / engineering / compartmentalization point of view, but also with all the corroborating individuals and investigative reporting that has occurred in the past 30 years. Bob Lazar is a modest, yet technically knowledgable and low key individual in person. And has shunned the "UFO scene" for decades. Sensationalism or over-the-top exaggeration are just not in his nature. This is confirmed by listening to his speaking voice quality and the factual / scientific way he presents the technical details. This book gives his history with the Area 51 / S4 / EG&G program, in a level of exquisite detail. And as mentioned, is extremely consistent and cross correlated with all the other Lazar material that is available online or in interviews. Surely, such an account could not be a result of "spinning tales", because such fiction would morph and embellish over time; not stay constant. This account holds together and corroborates with other individual's relating of the types of insider HIGHLY compartmentalized operations of SAP (Special Access Programs) run by defense contractor entities for the US Government. If you are newer to the Lazar story, here are some recent online video presentations that have excellent background and history: start by watching his two hour July 2019 Youtube interview with Joe Rogan (and Jeremy Corbell). Good level of detail and touches on many of the relevant points. Also gives you a gut level impression of Lazar's reluctance to even discuss this disturbing (and at the same time, incredibly exciting) account of that time period. And confirms his impressive technical / scientific expertise and shear honesty, integrity and perseverance.Hold off watching the recent Corbell documentary on Lazar, at least until you have seen George Knapp's material (mentioned below). The Corbell 2019 documentary is at times disjointed / over-the-top in some sections. Although it does a good job in other areas, such as showing some of those with close relations / history with Lazar. And filling in some of the context of his scientific interests. If you watch this documentary on Vimeo, you can also view the "Bonus features" video extras. These are not included when viewing online at Amazon or Netflix.Peabody and Emmy winning reporter George Knapp was the person responsible for breaking the Lazar story in 1989 on his TV station in Las Vegas. Because he has closely tracked and researched all aspects and persons involved in this event for 30 YEARS, he is perhaps the world expert on all the Lazar puzzle pieces / individuals and how they fit together. He particularly has personal experience with how government agencies have, over many occurrences, thwarted and blocked his attempts to interview other personnel with direct knowledge of Lazar's SAP / Area 51 experience. Yet at the same time, Knapp does get through to substantial numbers of those with knowledge of black programs. On Youtube, highly recommended is George Knapp's Lazar lecture, given at the Copenhagen 2014 Exopolitics conference. An hour and twenty minutes with much detail on how Knapp verified the factual elements and did his research into Lazar's background. Including multiple veracity confirming lie detector tests of Lazar. He further confirms that the advanced technology in this SAP program is consistent and confirmed by individuals who also have SAP background.Knapp has available a 2nd Youtube post-Copenhagen conference, private interview with the organizers of that event. Some more details and background surface in that interview. Both these Youtube's are on the ExopoliticsDenmark Youtube channel. The book as a whole goes into extensive detail on the circumstances and sequencing of events in this time period. I made frequent use of the Kindle highlighting features in my reading of the book. There are many technical details I wanted to note that further illuminate the physics and engineering involved. I also highlighted substantial aspects of Lazar's account that were indeed frightening and astounding. Namely, the extent to which our government will go to silence whistle blowers like Lazar -- with blatant threats to the safety or livelihood of both Lazar and his friends. As mentioned in the book forward by Knapp, abundant evidence that these UAP phenomena are real is witnessed in the recently disclosed videos online, that have been recorded by US Navy pilots. These are videos imaged by their fighter plane radar systems. These radar images show craft making the same type of orientation maneuvers that Lazar explains in the book. (Go Fast, Tic Tac, and Gimbal videos.)Although elements of Lazar's story are indeed disturbing, revealing the dark nature of these black defense contractor SAP programs -- I have full confidence and optimism that we are headed every year towards more honest disclosure of these technologies and the historically ingrained level of government secrecy / paranoia. As Knapp and Lazar have said for many years, wider disclosure of this information will only benefit humanity by opening our eyes to the wider intelligence and level of consciousness in the universe.Although these technologies demonstrate powers and capabilities far beyond our current human science understanding -- it's certainly possible that they also may make possible bridging our civilization with others. Which could hold untold potential for collaboration and future evolution.

Fascinating book on Bob Lazar!
If you are UFO fan, or even better, a Bob Lazar fan, this book is really, really interesting. Highly recommended!

Buy the book, warts and all.
Let me begin by getting one thing out of the way. This book is RIDDLED with very basic copy errors, such that one is left with the impression that Lazar's manuscript passed directly from his hands to those of the typesetter with no editor - certainly no competent proofreader - intervening. Missing words, homonymic substitutions, grammatical gaffes, etc. Literally scores of them, and in a field so hungry for credibility as ufology is, a memoir written by someone so integral to the lore and of such iconic stature as Bob Lazar, this state of affairs is frankly dumbfounding. So there's that. Now more to the substance …Though titled "An Autobiography", Dreamland is a memoir. It tells Lazar's life story only to the extent that snippets of his past are relevant to his involvement with S4, which came as a relief to me and will, I feel sure, come as a relief to any reader who picks up this book because they're interested in Lazar's involvement with the purported Groom Lake reverse-engineering program, as opposed to his first date, his grandmother's apple pie, or his favorite childhood pet. So thank you, Bob, for staying on topic. Seriously. For readers who've heard about Lazar only recently, maybe in the midst of the post-Grusch kerfuffle, maybe through watching his Joe Rogan interview, or hearing him discussed on the "Weaponized" podcast, Dreamland will serve as a useful and authoritative primer. Anyone aspiring to ufological literacy should be advised that no survey of the literature is complete without some significant focus on Bob Lazar, and Dreamland satisfies that requirement. Buy the book. For readers already familiar with Lazar's story, Dreamland will serve as an "easy A" refresher course. And really, no hardcore ufology geek's bookshelf can be considered complete without it. Hynek, Vallee, Dolan, Hopkins, Kean, et. al. ... and Lazar, inevitably. Buy the book.George Knapp's delightfully hard-bitten, Sin-City-journo-style foreword provides essential context and no small degree of credibility. His contribution is significant in every respect. And Lazar's writing style is a very pleasing foil to Knapp's ... friendly, literate, introspective. Very readable. As for the apparent lack of proofreading, I lay responsibility for that squarely at the feet of the publisher. Shame on you, Interstellar, whoever you are. Both writers deserve better and, while the platform is appreciated, a more carefully constructed platform would have been appreciated more.

The Government is Hiding Propulsion Technology from the Public.
Bob Lazar has talked Element 115 years before it was discover by modern science. It really makes you think hard, that there really is life out there in the Universe. Gives you extra details on story of Bob Lazar. Always been a fan Bob Lazar and George Knapp. Great Read!

Worth reading
I first stumbled upon Bob Lazar on YouTube whilst watching X-files on Hulu (probably due to a cookie or something). Anyways, I found his testimony to be very convincing and plausible. Prior to hearing Lazar's interviews on YouTube (the news reports with George Knapp), I never believed in aliens or spaceships. I thought it was all science fiction. After hearing his testimony I purchased the book as a follow-up for more details, and it all makes sense to me. People have tried to discredit him, but from what I can tell the government does that with anyone they want to silence. I recommend this book for anyone seeking information about spacecraft. Lazar's testimony has never changed over the years from what I can tell. And who makes someone's life history disappear unless they really want to silence them? The book is well written and a quick read.

Such a relevant read in 2023!
Given the events of the UAP Hearings in Congress in 2023 and the revelations of David Grusch, Bob Lazar’s story is so relevant and reads truer than ever. Great to get this insight behind what went on then with Bob, and what’s obviously been going on all along. “Administrative Terrorism” is how Grusch referred to what’s happened with him in 2023 and the time leading up to it, and it all makes sense hearing what happened to Lazar in 1989. Very interesting read (typos aside!).

Gripping first hand account of working inside America's UFO reverse-engineering conspiracy.
This autobiography is Bob Lazar's first hand account of his alleged involvement in a highly classified effort to reverse-engineer (taking a finished product apart to find out how it works and the physics behind it) at a facility called S4 near Groom Lake (Area 51) in the Nevada test ranges. The book only covers the six months of his involvement in the project, from his recruitment by Naval Intelligence front company EG&G, and the handful of times he was called-in to work on the reactor and propulsion system of a craft that was obviously extra-terrestrial (non-human) technology. It is not a full autobiography of his whole life, or career as a physicist, although he does refer to relevant aspects of these, his love of explosive reactions and various means of alternative propulsion, hence the jet-bike he built as a student and the jet engine he installed in a Honda Civic as an adult. The book explains how he became frustrated with the irregular work schedule - he would be called-in at random times on an hour's notice - while his final security clearance was being investigated. It was this process that finally unravelled his life, as he was unaware that his second wife was having an affair, a fact the S4 security people were aware of because Bob had signed an agreement for them to tap his phone, but could not tell his wife, and his wife thought that he was having an affair because he could not explain his irregular work hours! There is no new information on the physics of the propulsion system he worked on, but Bob does explain how they learned what has been already revealed. Bob's frustration with the way the project was being run, with an oppressive compartmented security overriding the scientific method of co-operation and information exchange between related disciplines. This was why his work partner Barry, and himself, had to start from first principles and try to analyse the fuel in the reactor, using a gas chromatography method to determine the constituent elements, only to discover it was a single unknown element off the right hand end of the periodic chart. Further to a previous reviewer's criticism, they did then go on to use a spectroscopy method in an effort to identify the element, but again, the result was a spike produced off the end of the scale. I'm not a scientist, but I have been a trained systems analyst for as long as I have been following Bob Lazar's story since 1989, and I still have not found any flaw or inconsistency in his story. Like investigative journalist George Knapp, I am as convinced as I possibly could be by Bob's story, without actually seeing the golf ball demonstration of anti-gravity in the lab myself. I don't see what more anyone can ask. My only criticism of the book is that it requires more proof-reading. There are a number of grammar errors and Bob got the name of a popular actor competely wrong, but I would expect these to be corrected in the Second Edition. The book does not cover his recent co-operation with documentary film maker Jeremy Corbell and the multi-agency raid on his business premises, although he does allude to Corbell at the end, as this book is part of his coming back into the limelight after 30 years to tell his story again to a hopefully more enlightened audience. This is an important book, I can highly recommend it for anyone interested in Bob's story. Five stars.

A tough break and a hard choice. I believe.
Anyone interested in the UFO/UAP phenomenon needs to read this story. What can be checked out, has been. Think of the implications - if this guy is telling the truth, we are all in big trouble - Not from extraterrestrials, but from the connivance of government officials, some key military figures, and private contractors. Their greed is what is behind the cover up. A power grab - the biggest in history. The truth is out there and this is a piece of it. Good luck Bob, I hope all goes well for you.

A movie (not only a documentary) should be made out of this story
Bob Lazar's bio is the kind of story that makes you be glued to the book and vice versa....you do really want to know what's going to happen in the next chapter. A lot of people claim that what Bob's been saying is nonsense, but aplenty of this "nonsense" has been proved true, so it's up to you to believe the story or not. What I can say he tells so many details from the facilities he used to work in that it'd be impossible for an outsider to know that! This bio will make you feel you're really inside the story. And, once again, it's up to you to believe it or not! Grab a bottle of coffee, find a nice silent spot and get ready to enter this amazing adventure.
