I gave these bowls as a gift and wished I could have a set for myself. They are very elegant.

4 square dishes: small & pretty
more like sauce dishes (soy sauce, sweet and sour, etc) than dip dishes. the dimensions listed (7 x 3.2 x 3.5 inches) are for the box. individual dish has about 1" square bottom and 3" square top edges. (2.54 cm, 7.62 cm). "Bowls are ideal to serve cold dishes, especially dips" that description implies a much larger size, so that's why 4 stars instead of 5.I got the dishes for table display extras. for my purposes, they are still a great size. I have a clear glass votive candle holder next to a silver cube with matches inside. one bossa nova dish looks great with this set. I use the dish to temporarily place the used matches. these are 4" matches (10.16 cm). at a diagonal, although they do go over the side of the dish, it still looks good. plus, the bossa nova dish reflects the candlelight. that image is reflected in the silver mirror of the cube. an elegant addition to a candle display.another extra idea is next to a silver leaf dish that I have. if the silver dish was filled with pistachios on a coffee table, then the bossa nova dish could hold the shells. if I got a larger bossa nova bowl and filled it with cherries, then the bossa nova square dish could hold the cherry pits. maybe that's too messy for guests, but I could use it that way myself. if next to a candy bowl, then the square dish could hold candy wrappers temporarily. overall, the dishes are convenient as extra holders that look great on display.

They are very small bowls. Not exactly what I was looking for. Aent them back.

Very elegant! love them! We even use them for a breakfast (cheese and butter on the plate, jams in the bowls) So really looks elegant!
