Ray Charles

Good book for children 7yrs to 12yrs.
I really liked this book, it was very informative and my daughter got all her book report info from this book. It focuses on the "positives" of Ray Charles life, although it talk a lot about how he over came the loss of is eyes, brother, mother And father at a young age which was so sad and heartbreaking. This book is for young children 2nd grade to fifth. The pictures are black and whit and very detailed However, the pages are long and an adult will need to assist the reader/to explain things or just to share in the reading.FYIIt did not talk about his drug problem/affairs. It did briefly discuss that he was divorce from his wife.

Childrens book
This is nothing more than a childrens little hard back book with 34 pages of reading !It took me approx. 5 min. to "read " it !Mostly " drawn " illistrations!Would've been a lot better to have gone on the net & read his " biography " for free.Don't even bother with this one.

It is a picture book; an important title
The winner of the first Coretta Scott King Award for illustration, making it an important title in the history of children's literature. Perhaps the customer who gave it one star did not expect a picture and thus gave it a low rating.
