This book is also complimented by at great app on the Android PlayStore
Very practical for praying through your experiences. It guides you to bring God into your life, rather than just turning your prayer into a introspection of self. Gratitude is a key part of this Ignatian prayer and opening our memory to see how God is at work in our reality. This book is also complimented by at great app on the Android PlayStore: "Daily Examen" which is basically this book in free app form. I would get the book, though, to read through the whole explanation and then use this app as your daily driver. Also I would recommend Fr Thibodeaux's book "God's Voice Within" for Ignatian Discernment. He is very clear, easy to follow for both the beginner and advanced "pray-er". Superb for interior freedom, and living as a discerning heart in the Lord!

Reflective time each day
I have enjoyed using this version of the examen. Each one is very meditative and leads me through a different aspect of life and spiritual development. Whether catholic or protestant, you will appreciate being drawn into the presence of the Lord as you take time away to center your thoughts on Him and how he wants to move in you each day that you use this.

Christians Must Step Forward
It has been the nature of Christians to many times keep their faith to themselves. Yes, they go to Church, but outwardly they are quiet, reserved, careful to talk of their faith to others. It is so important for us to realize how we gain strength by sharing with others, listening to others, joining our hearts and souls in God's Love. Truly, there is strength in numbers, not in marching, or taking a stand, but by simply feeding our souls and those of others by sharing our belief in our good God.

doing this for lent!
Wow! I'm currently doing this for lent and it has been wonderful!! It offers a different "theme" of an examen every day. I had zero experience with the Ignatian examen prior to using this book and it has been easy to follow and a wonderful way to enhance my prayer life. I highly recommend!

Excellent book!
I look forward to praying with this book each night. I’ve done the examen for years, and this breathed fresh life into my practice. The questions are so insightful and helpful, drawing you into deeper reflection and a closer walk with God.

This is a selection of ways to think about your practice of taking a daily invatory of your life.
I liked the many options the author offers for the reader to examine their life on a daily basis. Start withidentifying those happenings for which you are grateful. Then look at those events that created negativeemotions in you. What can you learn? If there is a lesson, what might it be. Certainly not judging yourselfis helpful. Rather than using binary thinking (good or bad), try to understand how you have lost an opportunity to learn a lesson about an aspect of your character or how to live life more lovingly toward yourself, or others.

Immediate payoff from this practical little book
What a great tool for expanding self-awareness and spiritual vigor in 15 minutes a day! It explains the ancient, Bible-based Ignatian examen of consciousness, and gives over 30 ways to use it for specific situations in daily life. Simple but effective (and thrifty!) way to boost mental and physical health, especially in challenging times.

Good
A good and helpful book but doesn’t offer anything more than the Examen app does. Maybe save yourself some money 💰

Fresh approaches to the Examen
For the last 40 years of my life as a Jesuit I have been committed to making the Examen each day. Sometimes I have found this prayer dry, routine and a chore. Mark Thibodeaux's book has opened up the Examen for me in fresh new ways. I have the Kindle version on my iPad and I look forward to trying a new approach each evening. We have put a hard copy in each room in our retreat house in Melbourne.

Excellent Guide to the Modern Examen
This book is a little gem. It offers a modern interpretation of the Ignatian Examen that prompts you to reflect prayerfully on events in your daily life. There are thirty-four examens covering a range of themes, e.g. "A Particular Relationship", "Who Wore God's Face Today?', "Gratitude". The book is designed so that you start at the beginning of a month and work your way steadily through it, with three extra examens included for good measure. It also supports a more flexible approach. The introductory section and the glossary of "Important Ignatian Terms" are very helpful. I have also downloaded the "Reimagining the Ignatian Examen" App. and go back and forth between the book and the app. Thank you, Fr Thibodeaux, SJ for this amazing book.
