Is this good for gaming? I currently play games like WoW, Diablo3, Borderlands 2, etc. on my 15" Macbook Pro which gets very hot. Will this help?

I would not recommend the cover for competitive gaming. I played Starcraft 2 with the cover. Although I can get away with basic commands, it is very clunky and I got owned bad. I recommend external keyboard for any gaming.

Will this work with MacBook Pro 15" 2016?

It does not have a set of pads that specifically fit the 2016 15-inch MacBook Pro, but if you put two of the pads labeled "Macbook Pro with retina display 13 & 15 inch" on one side of the slot and two of the pads labled "MacBook 12 inch" on the other side, the 2016 15-inch MacBook Pro fits perfectly.
