George Michael: The biography Paperback – Illustrated, July 17, 2018

Very thorough biography...lots of very interesting things about the life of George Michael. Enjoyed very much. So sad he is gone.

What a great bio! I am 39 and couldn't believe when George announced his US tour in '08. I got a ticket in April for his only Philadelphia show in July. It was a nostalgic blast from the past. George transformed the Wachovia center into a nightclub. We were up dancing more than we were sitting. He engaged us as though we were personal friends. This book takes us back to George's childhood influences up to and including his latest tour. There are some wonderful full color photos that showcase his changing looks. I also have the prior bios "Bare" and "Older". This completes my collection. I highly recommend this edition as well as the DVD companion "A Different Story" It was sold at his concerts and is hard to find. There are excerpts however on Youtube. Enjoy reading about a true musical genius.

I have not yet finished reading this book. So far, it is interesting and easy to follow. There is so much information in the Prologue that I cannot imagine how the author is going to fill the rest of the 229pages.

Read the book in one day-couldn't put it down. Answered my questions since I have been a long fan. Chapter five, Freedom 1985-1986 told the whole story in my opinion. His first love (no names) The first paragraph tells you it was his first love (22 yrs old.) He always stated that he loved women and all his songs were about his relationships up until 1990. I wondered who he wrote "A Different Corner " for, and now I know. He even dedicated it on the back sleeve, wow, that speaks volumes! I see how it shaped his career choices in the early 1990's. He also mentioned that in his early twenties, he wanted to have children. In my own opinion, due to the hurt and pain, relationships with women made it hard for him to emotionally connect (trust). I loved reading about GM and Andy growing up together, forming the band. Thanks for the great reading!

This was a good biography but I felt the first half was more in depth than the second. I breezed thru it in 2 days and would recommend it to any fan of biographies but I would think for a true, diehard fan I'm sure there is a better book for them - that is why i only gave it 3 stars. As someone who is mainly a fan of his earlier music, mostly before his battle with Sony, it was nice to read about his much of his later works and life. I was also glad the author didn't harp on all the bad press He received. I would have liked another chapter to read that was devoted to the physical issues surrounding his death or even some more reactions, or anecdotes from his friends and family but being the book was published soon after his death, perhaps it was rushed. I would buy and read this book again, hardly no bad reviews at all

Love George Michael, and this book was a pretty good summary of his life. It covers a little of his family history, and then continues about how he launched his outstanding career. He was so driven from such a young age. And yes, he did have a wild side, but that was part of his charm! I find him to be a fascinating person. He was fearless in so many ways, yet vulnerable in so many other ways, but he eventually found a balance, and lived his life the way he wanted to. I just hope and pray that people will remember him for his beautiful soul and talent, and respect his privacy for his personal life. He was such a gifted artist, and a generous person--he was one of a kind, and he is missed.

Nice Biography.

It was worth waiting a week to start reading it. It didn't arrive damaged or something. The quality of the sheets and the format is excellent. I don't want to spoil you but I must admit that I didn't expect it to be so well written for a biography. It contains specific details of his childhood and adolescence that I didn’t know, which is awesome and I like a lot. The only "disappointing" thing could be that it has few photos and they are in black and white, I expected them to be in color but it gives it a nostalgic touch and at the level that anyone would expect. Don't listen to bad reviews. If you are a fan of George / Wham! and of biographies in general, this book will be an excellent purchase.✨

Received in great condition! Cant wait to read it.
