Homax Jasco Bix 9310 Tile Guard Tile Grout Coating 4.3oz

I purchased Tile Grout Coating to help brighten up dirty-looking white tile grout. I wasn’t sure how effective this grout whitener would be, but given how expensive hiring a professional is, I gave it a shot. This stuff works! It freshened up graying and stained white grout, making it look like new. It made all the difference to my entire room and made me feel like I had instantly elevated the value of kitchen area!One bottle of 4.3 oz Homax Jasco Bix Grout Coating covered approximately 2 medium-sized rooms. It’s simple to apply (once you get the hang of it) and fairly easy to wipe the excess off tile with sponge and water. Please note that it does take a little time, but it’s not back-breaking work. The only issue I had with this product is the applicator (similar to shoe polish). It began to wear and shred near the end of the project. It is recommended you seal the grout after application, but I have yet to try that.Overall, I feel this is a great solution for the frugal DIY-er. I could not be happier with the Tile Guard Tile Grout Coating and the Tile Guard Grout Sealer. I live in a very old apartment in the historic section of my city. The kitchen counter is small with old fashioned tiles. The grout holding them in place is old, stained and has seen better days. The city, who owns these units, is not going to invest in unnecessary renovations so it is up to the tenants to look for affordable fixes.I used the grout coating late one afternoon and left it on overnight. I was absolutely stunned the next day when I saw the results. The counter top looked virtually new. Since it was recommended to use the grout sealer to protect the new white appearance I got a can of the product. It helps resist mildew and stains. You just spray it on, allow it to dry for an hour, and wipe it off.I cannot begin to describe the extreme cosmetic facelift these two products have given my tiny kitchen. For a minimum investment of fewer than fifteen dollars I no longer have to be embarrassed by my countertops. I could not recommend these products with more praise.

I purchased this product to brighten the floor tiles in my kitchen and bathrooms. I previously tried scrubbing and bleaching the grout which was ineffective. With this product I was able to coat the grout easily and it now looks brand new. Although the product is recommended only for white grout, my tile was originally beige and became even darker over time and it still worked great. I followed the package instructions regarding thoroughly cleaning the tile and grout beforehand which ended up being the most time consuming portion of the project. The grout coating goes on quickly and wipes of the tile easily. I ended up buying 4 and only needing 1 and 1/2. For the price, the results are amazing and I will keep the remainder for touch-ups down the road. I love this product!Just a few things to note:This product is not grout cleaner, it is more of a paint product that will cover up stains and discoloration. You would never know from looking at the end result though.I also agree with other reviewers in that the applicator wears away quickly. With the 1st bottle, I still had 1/4 left but the applicator was too battered to effectively apply the product. Again, for the price, I do not find this to be a major issue and am more than satisfied.

I like this product. It is a quick fix for those people who have used lots of elbow grease in trying to revive grout lines in older homes. I have a 1960s rancher and I love it. Older homes in my opinion, are built better and have more character. I also dont mind my bathrooms with the funky colored tiles. This item worked particularly well in my half bath. This bath room has the very small, multicolored tiles and applying this coating was a painless process. It makes an unsightly problem disappear in minutes. My main bathroom has neutral colored tiles placed on the diagonal, and once I applied this coating, the floor came back to life. It seems to be fairly resilient months after the application, so I am happy. If in time I need to reapply the tile grout coating, it wont be an issue for me. This item took care of that grungy tile I could not clean with ANY product. I would recommend this item, and would buy it again.

This company really knocks itself out for the customer and I very much appreciate that. Smack in the middle of Storm Sandy, they kept in constant contact and were able to get this order out. I started using it yesterday for the 1st time. Had to remove the sponge applicator as one would have to have a wrestler's grip to squeeze the product. Began applying it with a narrow brush. Worked much better. Some of my grout was black from mold and some just discolored. Will have to go back for a retouch, but thats ok. Anything is better than the untreated grout. Now, getting the excess off may be another story. May have to get a single edged razor blade or a solvant. Havent gotten that far yet. This product is definitely a quick fix and since I am a renter, I dont care about the grout, per se, other than the color. Wish I'd bought the refill and not this item, thereby avoiding the sponge mess. The product is good, the company is the best.

I have a retro bathroom with small pink tiles... The tiles and the grout are at least 65 years old and were desperately in need of a face lift.Going into it I was not expecting an instant fix, some of the reviews I've read are a little harsh... Even if you would use straight up latex paint and hand paint the grout likes you would still get bleed through, you will need to do layers of this product to get ideal results. I think I did 4, my bathroom is pretty small so I was able to do 4 coats with 2 bottles of the solution.... And I did use all of it. it probably took me 5 days to finish the project. It was very labor intensive, but well worth it. I'm so glad I did it, my bathroom looks brand new.... That being said I will purchase the sealer and do that soon. I am expecting it to fade and need touch ups if i don't seal it. IT IS A STAIN! Be realistic.
