Rust Dissolver Trigger Spray Gel

Works well, sprayed the legs on my iron dock legs to get the summer rust off. You do have to clean off the rust with a brush after you apply but it comes right off.

I’ve been using this Rust-Oleum spray gel on a bunch of backyard metal items that pick up rust from moisture. It’s easy to apply, clings well, and in most cases dissolves around 90% of the rust within a half hour. For routine cleanups, it’s been the best performer I’ve tried—much less scrubbing and the metal looks close to new after rinsing. Pros: Gel formula clings to vertical and irregular surfaces Dissolves light-to-medium rust quickly (often within 10–30 minutes) Minimal scrubbing—rinse and wipe is usually enough Good value for periodic maintenance across tools, grills, patio hardware Cons: Inconsistent on heavier spots—some stains remain or need repeat applications May require multiple rounds on thicker rust or pitted areas You still need to rinse thoroughly and dry/protect the surface to prevent new rust Bottom line: Not a miracle for deep, heavy corrosion, but for ongoing maintenance it’s fast, effective, and better than other rust removers I’ve used.

As a beach house owner, this has become the go-to I never knew existed until Gary at Ace Hardware told me about it on the DL (bc I was shopping for something similar, but they didn't carry this particular product). And just like that, Gary and Rustoleum changed my life forever. Rust always thought it had the upper hand — bikes, grills, screws, fishing gear, locks, hinges, power tools that my husband continually forgets to put in the shed, etc. etc. etc. Enter this miracle spray-gel that actually clings to metal surfaces and dissolves rust in minutes without me scrubbing like I’m training for the Olympics. Also, it's not smelly at all — like pb blaster which makes me gag. One warning though: if you leave it on too long, it can leave this black oxidation stain, but that's the only drawback I've found. I will probably never see Gary again, but I will always have this wonder gel to remind me of his kindness.

the product works to remove rust, is not perfect, more work is needed to really clean off the residue. the product seems to have a stronger smell so face mask is very important, The product does not seem to remove the very heavy duty rust, even after applying more than 5 times, nothing, it does not penetrate deep it will do thin surfaces only, so thick corrosion will need a machine/special tools to manually remove. Gloves are a must this is still strong. For the price is too high for the amount of jelly you get, maybe this was originally a liquid but it sat a very long time and became jelly i dont know that. So its more of a gamble, if you have a serious project try something else, but for small un important projects this is OK

This is the very best Rust De Solvers I have ever used. Just spray on any wet Metal Surface, let sit for 15 minutes, and simply just rinse off with water. To get better rust removable, lightly scrub the metal surface after you Spray on any wet metal surface, with a small wire brush

I wish i can post photos to show how effective this gel is… tested it once i received on a very rusty stainless steel lock , sprayed the gel and waited for around 30-45 mins then scrubbed it with steel brush , from the rust started to dissolve like magic. This product is very effective and i am truly happy for finding the solution that can restore whatever is rusty and old back to very good new condition. Strongly recommend if you have rusty metal.
