Interesting paper stock for comic creation
The pros: Easy to draw on, inks well. Great weight and durability for inked line art if you work at a decent pace. Finished originals look great. The cons: Very toothy surface *not smooth at all*, can have some ink bleedage if you work slowly. Especially when filling black areas with brush *compared to other professional grade comic book boards*. This particular board does not work well with color markers. Also had some odd issues scanning in pages, lot of texture from the paper scans in when zoomed in, but easily correctable if you understand and use level adjustments in Photoshop. I use a 4H lead holder for pencil rough work and this paper is pretty difficult to erase after finish inking, however I am a bit heavy handed.

Best drawing paper I've used
The thickness of the bristol is perfect for final pieces, especially for my commission projects. The Vellum surface has great tooth for holding down layers amof graphite and charcoal. This allows great blending and gradients. The 500 series is archival and made to withstand the test of time. This paper is great for erasing and reworking areas.

😌 not bad 😌
My initial thoughts: No way this is Bristol. The thickness looks and feels more like mixed media considering how much I paid to get Strathmore Bristol. My Canson and Master’s Touch Bristol(s) are both sturdier than this stuff—WTH? Then I laid down my initial sketch with an 8B graphite pencil and it didn’t smear folks 🤯. This suggests the paper quality is more like what I was expecting when I paid the price I did. The paper is holding the graphite VERY well. That’s not to say it won’t blend out. It is not magic paper and will smear if the graphite is loose but for the most part it’s doing great with the 8B and HB pencils I’m using for the practice sketch. ⚠️ The sheets are a bit hard to tear out.

Best quality paper for colored pencil work or other dry materials...but...
I do drawings in colored pencil and want the highest quality paper. Strathmore's 500 series is the best. I have purchased this vellum bristol pad a few times; however, lately, I find the pads arrive slightly damaged. The corners are crushed, and the pad is slightly bent, warped, as if it's been stored too tightly perhaps in a damp area. I won't return this as I can trim the edges and flatten the paper with a heavy weight, but I think it's best to bite the bullet (shipping costs) and order from a reputable art supply outfit online.

Nice surface for graphite.

Lots of tooth.
I bought this for ink work. I'm a comic book artist by trade, I do pencils and inks and whatever I'm needed for. I like Inking over smooth paper, just a personal preference. But this was great for pencils. And if that's all you're looking for this is great.

De tekenblok was beschadigd waardoor in een deel van de pagina's een kleine scheur zit wat wel heel jammer is voor zo duur papier. Ik zal er een stuk af moeten snijden om het te gebruiken....

As a professional artist, this is a quality paper ideal for colour pencils. It has a texture and therefore you can add multiple layers of tones.

A high quality paper for times when. a smooth paper is required. Preferred this plate surface iwhen aiming to do more detailed work with graphite or coloured pencil or if working with pen and ink. Would purchase again.
