E-sim capable
A bit overdue, 3 years to be exact, but for anyone who might be interested, the UK version of this phone Pixel 3a is eSIM ready. I asked the question here recently as to wether it was or not, but downloaded Airalo app and installed a cheap £4.50 eSIM to test. It downloaded and installed no problem. I have a pixel 7 with airalo installed and travelled to Egypt and Norway recently, both using eSIM. So simple. Turn off via settings your normal physical SIM and activate and turn on the eSIM after installing. Anybody travelling abroad, I would totally recommend getting the above app or research your own preference. Aside from all the above ramblings, a great little phone 👍🏼 !

GREAT PHONE!
I bought this for my wife as an upgrade from her older, slower Android. She loves it and it does everything she needs it to, especiay when it comes to compatability with her Oral-B io8 Smart Toothbrush! Totally recommended.

Not worth purchasing it
The quality of the phone is not good, battery life is too low that, you need to charge twice/day. It seems to be old model now looking at the recent trend. User interface is not user friendly.

Fantastic phone
Everything is great with this compact little phone .bought to replace one I already had .As the speakers had gone on mine .great camara .finger print reader great .battery life really good . The only downside or negative is the charging plug is only a 2 pin plug so not 3 pin for UK .so will have to find a charger at more cost not great .

Lots of good stuff but unusable after two months
I really wanted to love this phone, and for the most part, I did. The camera is brilliant, UI navigation pretty straightforward, and being able to sync Google apps across my phone and computer (especially photos and notes) has made a lot of things easier. However, I'm having to return this as defective because internet connectivity broke after two months. I can't stay connected to wifi at home and at work, even though there are no network issues, and a lot of the time, 4G drops very suddenly too; I can only get back online by restarting the phone several times a day. I saw a couple Google forum posts with users reporting similar issues and there doesn't seem to be a solution. Google support were not helpful - they said they wouldn't offer normal warranty on this item, because the IMEI showed it's a demo phone that has been resold after being used for demonstrations in stores. This was a red flag for me, as the Amazon listing doesn't mention that anywhere, and if I were to go by the information in the original box, I'd expect it to be covered. I'd suggest to the seller that they update the listing to make it clear they are selling demo phones, if that is the case. I may not have bought it if I'd known upfront. Also, battery life is a lot shorter than I expected. I have to charge it every day, even though some of the features that consume the most are off most of the time. What a shame.

Great phone
Works and looks just as new. Only complaint is that there was a tiny scratch on the display but that is to be expected when you buy used products.

Disapointing
I've had this phone for around 4 months now so I've really had a good long time to evaluate it. I'm very rarely disappointed with phones but this one feels me with regret. I really dislike this phone and wish I hadn't brought it. First off, let's get the one good point out of the way: the camera. This snapper is the best smartphone camera I've ever had. I'm a fairly serious amateur photographer so I take my photos pretty seriously and I know what makes a good image. I'm very picky when it comes to image quality. This is fantastic. I'm very impressed. However, there are many other phones with fantastic cameras and the negatives far far outweigh the this good point. Negatives. The screen is way too dim. This is one of the worst displays I've ever had the misfortune to own. Any hint of decent daylight on it and I can no longer see the screen. Forgot taking photos with the awesome camera in the summer time with this phone because you won't be able to see what the hell you are shooting. It's really dim. My previous phone, Huawei p10 pro came with me to to SE Asia and no matter how bright and sunny it was, I could still see the screen. A bright but cloudy UK day is enough to not be able to see the screen. Battery Life is BAD. Like, really bad. A recent example was my trip out on a walk to Hamstead Heath. Little bit of Google maps, some photos and some video. It was on 100 percent charge when I left for a day out and it was dead before 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Another example. At work I get 2 breaks. I get one 15 mins coffee break and one 30 mins lunch break. On both breaks I surf my phone. Web only surfing only. I also use it for maybe 20 minuets in the morning and maybe a few minuets on the way home. It's now on 34 percent... I've hardly used it and yet it's 3/4 dead. Slippery material. The phone is super slippy and poorly designed. I've already dropped it and took a small chip out of the bottom of it. Sure you could use a case but what's the point of owning an attractive phone and shoving it in a case? I don't like cases, they make the phone bulky and ugly but each to their own. The speaker sound is too low. It's really low and the alarms and call volume is quiet. I've tried checking the settings to ensure it's set to full, it is, and it makes no difference. I would also say that the quality isn't as good as other phones that I have owned. I would seriously think about buying this phone. I really advise you not to do it. It's also EXPANSIVE for what it is. There are loads of phones that are cheaper (especially Chinese phones) and this with bigger screens and far better specs. I would admit that you will be hard pushed to get a better camera but there are a lot of cameras that have almost as good or very good cameras. I would really advice you to get something else and save some money into the bargain too.
