Great set for a basic wash!
I bought this to wash my fathers car as an extra fathers day gift. I didn't want anything fancy. This is what I thought:Shipping - Was great! I used prime and got it right on time. It was packaged well with no flaws (Ive seen a lot of comments about broken bottles). I can imagine that if another package was thrown on this, that there isn't any padding to protect it. Again though, I had no problems and everything was included.Quality of sponges/towel - The large foam sponge is really just a cheap, normal sponge. Nothing special. You'll probably want a better sponge to actually get dirt off (I used the towel for the bottom of the car and lightly "scratched" through the towel to get bugs/dirt off). The small sponge was fantastic for waxing! The towel was nice. I didn't use it for the intended use however, so I cant completely judge it. As a side note:***If you want to do the job correctly, you will need MANY more microfiber towels! I bought more Meguiar's towels on amazon, 2 from the dollar store, and 2 more from an outlet store. That wasn't even enough. Had to wash/dry them, then continue. This is only if you plan to use them to swipe the inside, dry the car, then remove the wax from the car********How well the cleaners worked - I started with the interior and used the detailer. I must say, it worked quite nicely. My father has old leather seats and they were not damaged at all. I used it on all plastic, leather, ect. Got the dirt off. Then I used the tire cleaner on the wheels. I've used tire cleaner before but this stuff is **amazing**. I sprayed it, waited about 5 seconds, and the suds were dark brown. I still had to wipe the grease off the rims, but it worked unbelievably well. My father couldn't get over how nice they looked. The actuall car shampoo was nice. Wasn't anything too special, but it smelled nice? I guess that's a plus. It didn't really "break" through any dirt or anything (not that I expected it to). The wax worked well. It was very shiny after I used it, but the shine only last a couple days in normal dry weather. I haven't used the exterior detailer so I cant review on that.OVERALL - I highly recommend this kit for anyone looking for a basic car wash/wax kit. Yes, you can get the 5 cleaning products for only a couple more dollars at a walmart (that is if you got free shipping) and not have to wait/risk damage from shipping, but you also get the basic sponge, wax sponge, and towel from this deal (which make it worth it if you, again, have free shipping).

Classic-style kit: Good but not great
So you're probably sitting there like I was a couple weeks ago, disgusted by your filthy vehicle and hoping to get it sparkly clean again with a detailing kit; unsure of which one to buy and looking to reviews for help.Well, to begin with, I wanna point out that this 1 particular page is advertising 6 different "styles" of Meguiar's detailing kits, so be sure to notice which style is being reviewed, because it might/might not be the one you're considering. You'll find that info listed underneath the date of each review, but I wanted to start there since it's an easy thing to overlook. Also, as a Prime member, I've grown accustomed to receiving all my orders within a few days of purchase. But there's some sort of regulation in place that requires this type of product to be mailed via ground shipping only. As a result, it took over a WEEK for these items to arrive at my doorstep, and it'll probably take around the same amount of time for you. Now, moving on to the Classic-style kit. I've gotta say that Sarasota2k4's review summed it up quite well, so read that if you haven't already. A few things I wanna add:-The Gold Class car wash works well, but you won't get much. 16 ounces is maybe enough for a handful of washes.-When you're about to lather your car up with the Gold Class car wash, that's when you wanna spray on the Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner. Unfortunately, I saved it for last, after having already washed and waxed my car. Turns out, that stuff requires water - so don't make the same mistake I did: use it when you're washing your car.-Despite my mistake, you can see in the pictures that my wheels still came out sparkling clean, and I used nothing more than a microfiber cloth to get them that way. So I'd say that the Hot Rims cleaner is really only necessary if your wheels are seriously caked in filth.-As good as the Gold Class car wash was, there were still remnants of bird poop on my car that absolutely would not go away. A clay bar would've come in handy there, but you won't find one in this kit.-The Cleaner Wax tends to squirt everywhere as you're squeezing it out of the bottle, even if you shake it thoroughly beforehand. It's also a low shine, so you won't get as satisfying a reward for what is still a decent amount of work. Applicator works well though.-The included microfiber towel worked great for buffing the wax, but it's not enough to cover everything else that needs to be done. So when it came to drying the car post-wash and cleaning the wheels, I had to dip into my own supply of microfiber towels.-The sponge was sufficient, but a mitt is really the best choice.-No buckets. I grabbed a couple of them from Dollar General, an added expense for anyone starting from scratch.-No tire shine. Again, had to tap into my own supply and went with Black Magic Tire Wet foam, which goes for about $5 on Amazon.-No all-purpose cleaner or dressing for the wheel wells. So, in summary, if you already own some or all of the things I just mentioned - mitt, buckets, tire shine, clay bar, APC, a few extra microfiber towels - then the Classic kit will be a good supplement. Otherwise, I think it's a better idea to just buy everything piecemeal from your local shop / wherever. You'll only end up paying a few dollars more and won't have to wait a week or more to clean your car.
