Is there a specific sharpener that will sharpen this pencil down? My normally great sharpener is not doing the job and I wonder if it's even possible.

I did not buy a special sharpener, I have a Maybelline pencil sharpener with a wide opening and small and the trick is place your jumbo eye pencil in a peice of paper towel wrapped completely, let it sit in the freezer for three minutes, take it out and THEN sharpen it, it will be a sharp point everytime. The freezing keeps it from wasting product or giving you a dull point. There is a vid on YouTube as well on this! Hope it helps!! :)

can these be sharpened... meaning, is the entire stick usable ?

Yes. The only problem tho that I have is the tip is plastic so you're sharpening plastic at first, then it's wood. But it works

Can these be used as eyeliner?

If you sharpened it to a point or used a eyeliner brush, yes. It would not stay in place like an eyeliner though. I personally use it as a primer for eyeshadow.
