Better then expected, keeps feather friend busy all day

Perfect size for budgies to burrow through, and doing a great job of distracting them from their hormonal interest in trying to nest in lampshades, drawers, shelves and blinds. One of mine dug halfway through this in a day, but she’s named Buzzsaw for a reason. She’s turned a 12 inch cuttlebone to chips in two hours before, so I think for a more normal bird (ok, average bird, we all know they’re not normal) this might be the project of a week or so.

My parakeets demolished this small kabob in less than 24 hours. They're still working on the large chunk on the cage floor. I'll continue purchasing the larger one that they can play and hide in after they clean it out.

The reason I gave it 1 star for longevity is that my 3 budgies will hollow it out in only 2 days! They attack it with gusto, even obsession. I gave it 3 stars for Value because they are a bit pricey - anything labeled for birds is overpriced in my opinion. Truthfully, I would replace them more often if they cost less - it is just a piece of yucca wood after all. But the joy it gives my birds is worth it. After about a month, all the soft material is chewed away, and they continue to chew the hard outer shell. I'm waiting for that to snap in half which will send them all flying out of the cage and squawking around the room. Then it will be time to replace it. Yes, I recommend this toy.

My Red Bellied Parrot really enjoyed ripping it apart. Don't consider this to be a permanent toy, as it is meant to be chewed up. Smaller birds like parakeets don't seem to chew it as much, but conures and larger love it. Buy extras. One of the first things they chew is the string it hangs from. You'll be picking it up from the cage floor a lot. Have some extra strings on hand to re-hang it and you're good to go. Good purchase when you don't know what silly, expensive, stringed-baubles will make your bird happy. Recommended.

Oh my gosh….my budgie gang love these

This is an excellent safe chewing toy for small, medium, and medium-large birds. I have purchased this item for years and my birds, (green cheeked conure, sun conure, and bare eyed cockatoo) who all love this item. The birds get tired of other toys, but never the Bird Kabob. They should make this in jumbo size so it could last longer. (it already comes in small, medium, and large.)

This is absolutely one of my favorite Parrots favorite toys. It’s just a little too expensive but she’s worth it. Keeps her busy for hours
