Greek for Beginners: The Best Handbook for Learning to Speak Greek!

I loved how each of the phrases were broken down in the Greek alphabet so I can clearly notice them when I go for a vist (the Greek alphabet is included inside for reference) plus, how each phrase had an English phonetic guide. Loved the practical phrases - I can definitely see myself using these. Big help.

This book is supposed to teach you how to speak Greek. Basically I would compare it to saying " here's how to play the flute, blow in one end and move your fingers over the holes". Incredible lacking in detail.

I would stay away from this book. It’s a nice concept but poorly executed. I’m a native Greek speaker and there are a lot of spelling errors in this book. Parts of the book give me the feeling that this was not written by a Greek speaker or someone that has a strong knowledge of the Greek language. Definitely not the way to learn Greek.

Great book! Practical, easy to read and well written. I was surprised that I actually knew some of the words - I just didn't know they were Greek! It will most certainly take a lot of practice, but a great handbook to have on hand for beginners. Recommend!

Good handbook for people who want to learn some basic Greek. Definitely going to use some of this with my Greek friends or when I visit Greece someday.

I bought this book because I am going to Greece with my best friend who is fluent in Greek. I found the book very difficult to understand and not a book that focused on learning common phrases. I showed the book to my friend who confirms that not only is it poorly written, it is very inaccurate, full of misspellings, and the phonetic renderings are inaccurate, including sounds that don't even appear in the Greek alphabet. I'd burn it, but I am morally opposed to book burning.

My main issue with this book is that it is NOT a real grammar book. I was expecting it to be a big grammar book, which is not. It is really thin and it doesn't go into depth or enough examples of the grammar rules, the worst part, it DOES NOT have the numbers! In my opinion, it is not worth the cost. Having said that, it is an ok book for beginners and for starting to dive into the language.

La versió Kindle, si més no, és plena de faltes de tota mena: tipogràfiques, de transcripció fonètica, etc. És tan greu que em sembla un insult al lector. No serveix de ben re. Si pogués tornar-lo, ho faria tot seguit. (Hi he posat un asterisc per força; en realitat se'n mereixeria 5 de negatius.)

A cheaply made summary of Greek being passed off as a good study guide. Scam artist betting on you not bothering to return it. Luckily Amazon Japan took mine back.Avoid this book.
