I'm new the metal lathing but this seems to do the job. It's cut everything I've tried it up. Up to mild steel. Sharp and seems to work as I would expect.

The five piece indexable lathe tools, 3/8" square shank fitted with replaceable three point carbide inserts enable LH & RH facing as well as straight turning operations. For hobby use and light shop work these tools eliminate the need to grind cutting edges prior to use. The tri-pointinserts have six cutting edges and incorporate chip breaker profiles. Nice black oxide finish on ground stock shanks. On down side, the insert locking screws should be replaced with a better quality product. Good value and prompt delivery.

Just what I needed. I have an older lathe with have ground bits that are a pain to get right. For simple cuts these are great

Just needed to get some indexable tooling as all I had was brazed insert tooling.Don't use my lathe at home a lot, but when I do, it's nice to have sharp tooling.
