The right tool for some people
I occasionally have trouble with mice. These tin cats work much better than mouse poison. I don't see the need to bait them. I just put them along a wall where the mice tend to run and they go in and can't get out. If you have an aversion to killing mice, this is definitely the tool for you! Check them frequently and the mouse will be alive and you can release it outside. If a mouse dies in the trap they do get rather disgusting, but that's the way with anything that kills mice.

It works.
It's hard to believe that mice are stupid enough to crawl inside this thing with no way out. Set it on the ground with the openings against a wall and check it every few days. If you have mice in the area there will be mice inside the trap. The only issue is it is a live trap and you have to "dispose" of the mice. Letting them go onto someone else's property is not an option. I've tried smearing a little peanut butter on the inside and it doesn't seem to make any difference with or without peanut butter.

Never thought I’d need these. Cat thought otherwise!
We live in a well-built home with no way for mice to enter except through the door. No problems for 4 years until the cat decided leaving dead birds on my door step was not good enough! She brought in a live mouse, dropped it on the floor and went to her cat tree to take a nap!We tried conventional traps baited with peanut butter for a month with no luck. I researched clear, plastic traps but many of the reviews showed how mice had chewed through the plastic and escaped. Sticky traps are inhumane so I decided to try these. Baited them with peanut butter, chocolate chips and dry cat food. Placed one by stove, one in pantry. After a couple days, SUCCESS! Caught a little itty bitty mouse! Let it go in the woods. Unexpectedly caught another one! And then another! It seems the “gift” from my cat was pregnant and had her babies in my house during the month we were unable to catch her!Traps were easy to set, release our captures, clean and re-bait. My husband ( who sometimes hallucinates) swore he saw a mouse run into our closet twice, and another run into the spare bedroom. So, I bought two more. We check them every morning and night. So far, fingers crossed, no more mice but no hard evidence of more, either. The only downside - it is sometimes hard to see through the vents to see if there are any mice. Maybe it’s our older eyes, maybe it’s the lighting, maybe it’s just the little itty bitty mice.Overall, though, I would recommend or I wouldn’t have purchased two more. At least if my cat decides to gift me another mouse, we’re covered!

If only I could give this fewer stars...
Let me start by saying I'm not new to this game. I'm a wildlife rehabilitator who facilitates humane evictions daily. I bought these traps because the "30 mice at one time" claim got me. I usually use the plastic live traps (they work wonderfully) but I thought I'd give this a shot. I have 40 raccoons, a fox, possums and deer in my care. So, of course, mice come along to snack on what's left of their food. One thing about mice; they're alot smarter than you think they are. They will try to beat yiur system. But this contraption is nothing but a lie. I used various baits like cookies, peanut butter and cheese. FOUR days and not one mouse caught. They did, however pull cookies through the "windows" and munched em, as they gleefully ran away laughing at my foolish decision to buy this junky thing. So here's why this thing doesn't work: It takes weight to get the mouse into the part where your bait is. The opening is small. So your average nimble field mouse is gonna make a fool out of you by pilfering whatever it can from the windows after attempting to run in through the door. Now before you start thinking this is user error, think again. I've used all kinds of live traps. This one is by far the biggest rip off. I put my plastic ones out that trap a single mouse per one. 14 plastic traps. 12 were successful the next morning. Save your money and don't waste a dime on these. I wouldn't use them if they were free.

Haven't caught anything!
Not sure what is going on but I haven't caught a thing in these traps! I have baited it with everything I can think of and the mice won't go in!

Does its job!
The mice seem to like this. I put some hamster bedding in it to make it easier to clean but also it's a nice temporary habitat for the mice. For food, I smeared peanut butter on a little cardboard square and then dipped it in pumpkin seeds.

The Tin Cat works great.
Check for mice every night. These things are effective!

Mouse caught in less than a day
I purchased these live traps after I found evidence of having mice in house. I caught one already inside my dogs food and released it outside but ordered the trap incase more. I found more droppings so set traps with cheese and within a few hours I could hear it inside. It was released outside. It's been a few days and hoping there are no more. I do not believe in killing animals and this is an alternative. That's been my experience thus far. I understand that they are smart and will learn to avoid traps but what alternative is there? I have been trying to put steel wool in holes on outside of house as well. If they can't get in there there won't be a mouse problem but it's hard to know exactly where getting in from. These traps are easy to use. Just have to watch when you open to release not to have your face too close to trap as they can jump up to get out.

Worked
I heard scratching in my attic. Put one of these up there with peanut butter inside. Caught 2 mice the first night.

Seria perfecta pero...
Seria perfecta si se pudiera ver facilmente si ya entro algun roedor, ese es el unico pero que le pongo ya que realmente me ha funcionado de maravilla.

Humane!
Excellent product...I just wish the top was transparent or opaque. It's very difficult to see when the trap is occupied!
